Does skin color trump reasoning ?

Colin Powell on Sunday blamed the media as well as the Tea Party for the divisive political tone in Washington.

Not surprisingly, neither the class warfare stoked by President Obama and his Party nor the resulting Occupy Wall Street movement was mentioned during this seven minute interview with Christiane Amanpour on ABC's This Week (video follows with transcript and commentary):

Blaming the Tea Party for an atmosphere that existed before it did.....?...not cool....
and I really admired Powell for his military service and for his tenure in Washington.
Spending and unemployment are our problems, the debt,.... and comprise and tax increases ain't gonna solve it.....

Colin Powell and Christine Amanpour. I don't think most Americans travel in their circles. Here's another fact....Neither one of them has even been to a Tea Party or ever will, so all they know is what they read in the same biased media as the left does.

My, my , my....look who's become obsessed with race.
And a scant 11 years ago, Colin Powell was being touted as a potential GOP presidential candidate. How fickle they become, ne c'est pas?
And you think, in those scant, few 11 years, Colin Powell became stupid???
Of course the media, and in large part, the Tea Party, with its' racist overtones, are responsible for the divide.
Class warfare? You mean, from the time he was running for the Democratic nomination, and he was accused of being "elitist" by the right? That class warfare?
"Resulting Occupy Wall Street"? How is it "resulting"? Resulting from what? President Obama???? Try frustration from corporations and the rich, receiving perks and breaks from a recalcitrant and Republican intransigent Congress, and the rich not having to pay a higher burden of taxes. While Wall St. execs and banking CEO's receive million dollar payouts, as regular folk are hurting, and jobless, and wanting to work. I know your bitch ass don't have much money, because you're on this forum far too frequently..so why you're acting all cashmere and diamonds is beyond anyone here.
Is there any wonder why Colin Powell endorsed Barack Obama, at the 11th hour, back in Nov2008?

And you moron, how do you think we get out of debt, and unemployment if not investing in infrastructure, the future and the economy? Haven't we learned anything from 1929?
But then investment hasn't ever been the right's strong suit. Hoarding and greed has, however.

I actually didn't think of that....Powell endorsed Obama at the 11th hour ?

That sure as hell answered the question I posed....its obvious, race does trump reasoning.....at least 90% of the time.....

Why do you need a link.....don't you trust your own statement ?......Idiot.

Powells endorsement of Obama answers my question.....that pretty much proves race trumps reasoning.....

Your question wasn't about race. You asked, "Does skin color trump reasoning ?" Skin color. And the answer is an unqualified, "Yes"! Many years ago, I was in Hawaii on vacation and I saw this stunningly beautiful gal with bronze coloured skin. We struck up a quick conversation at the beach but she said she was just on her way back to her hotel and asked if we could get together later for a drink and something to eat. She mentioned a place and I, still in awe, stammered, "Yes, eat." As I watched her walk away with visions of sugar plums dancing in my head it quickly struck me I had already discussed dinner plans with my wife!

So, to answer your question, "Yes, skin color can trump reasoning."

Why does the color of the President's skin matter now in this election?

Oh, and you think that I'm just going to accept that "pat" answer, and let you "make it"???? Explain how Powell's endorsement of Obama answers your question, and further, proves "race trumps reasoning"...........so I can tear you apart. Ball, your court.

Touche'. Now that was "hot". And a perfect retort.

Why does the color of the President's skin matter now in this election?

Oooh, let me answer that one. It doesn't matter..........anymore. It did in 2008. But we've already had our first black President (term 1), and what it proved was that his message of "hope and change" trumped skin color, despite those who were vehemently against him because of skin color. And his presidency has driven some of you so mentally unstable that you would seek to unseat him with another African-American, Herman Cain, albeit, a horse of your own color, espousing your own racist rhetoric, someone who would "hop, skip and jump" to the Republican agenda, which, by the way, marginalizes people of color, as an ideology, and trumpets "white privilege" as a birthright.
So, the election is no longer about race, but ideology, which includes notions and concepts concerning race.

Anything past 1+1 is kinda over your head I see......

It didn't matter too much in 2008.....the message trumped skin color for a lot of folks....that being, the uneducated pinheads and young voters that tasted koolade for

the first time.........

but folks like Colon Powell, should have known better.......they are smarter and more informed than the average voter.....hes was an insider.....and yet he fell for

the bullshit and was blinded by the skin color.....he should have known better....

and now that Obama has proven he is incapable of being president and he is obviously in over his head....only those whose reasoning is trumped by skin color will

vote for the boob again............

Did you graduate high school, because English seems to be difficult for you? The man's name is Colin, not Colon... and you seem to suggest that you know better than him...that you're smarter than he is. You are not. Obama can't be as effective as president, because of the obstructionist Republicans who want to see him out of office, if not dead. He's still smarter than any Republican.
If this is your attempt at explaining my query to you, then I rest my case. You're stupider than previously thought. You couldn't debate an potato.

Yes, Colin Powell was an insider. He knew the Republican party intimately after experiencing the party using him and damaging his reputation regarding his defense of the Iraq war. The war mongers knew Powell would lend credibility to the cherry-picked information and gather public support.

You say Powell should have known better than to support Obama. Rest assured, Powell knew the Republican party quite well and witnessing McCain selling his soul for a shot at the Presidency probably made him nauseous. Powell knew. Don't doubt that for a moment.

The Dems who voted for the invasion should have known better. Powell didn't cast one vote for invasion. Dumb ass liberals can't take responsibility for anything. Cowards.

On the up side the Dems did learn. When it came to the Repub lies and distortions they're so well known for the Dems completely ignored them and proceeded to enact ObamaCare. Expect to see more of that should the Dems win a majority. Like unruly children the Dems will have to have the Repubs stand in the hall while they get on with government business in the chamber. :)

"Unruly children". Oh yes. I remember now. You mean all those teachers yelling and screaming in Wisconsin and all those miscreants at the Occupy sites. LOL. You're funny.

Tell me, when you get up off the toilet, do you feel the need to look into the bowl to see what happened?

When your argument fails, point out spelling errors.

Face it, Bravo pwned you on this. :D
