Do you own a GM car ?

General Motors Co (GM.N) is seeking to dismiss a lawsuit over a suspension problem on more than 400,000 Chevrolet Impalas from the 2007 and 2008 model years, saying it should not be responsible for repairs because the flaw predated its bankruptcy.

Ya just gotta love American Auto Manufactures....

Its a wonder there are still idiots that actually still buy vehicles made by GM...

What PR geniuses...

I have not owned a GM made vehicle in over 20 years. They are junk.

But I do buy American and have a couple of large Ford suv's.

I feel the need to make the largest carbon foot print that I can.

Of course you do, loser, and you are proud of it. Kharma will take care of you.

One of my work trucks is a GMC, 22 years old, runs awesome, still has the original exhaust system. Pretty impressive for a vehicle which spent it's entire life on an island surrounded by salt water.
It is my Nantucket truck.

My 50's Pontiac, similar to this one,

is my daily driver. Clocked almost 20,000 care-free miles after a motor rebuild. Over 55 years on the road. That's GM dependability. :)

Wow when did the right start hating Americans? I grew up with "buy American", and I still believe in it. I own a Chrysler 300 and it's beautiful, reliable, and drives like a dream. I'm a patriot, I love this country and I believe the American workers are second to none.

This is so sad. It's so sad what's become of the American right in my lifetime. You people used to love this country. Or at least you pretended to. Now you openly hate it and consider Americans your enemies.

You know what? Move to Japan. This is America; love it or leave it buddy.

I am currently driving a 2008 Chev Silverado. The truck has had more things go wrong than I can count. I have had excellent luck with other GM trucks and SUVs, but this one isn't.

Yes, more and more companies are outsourcing jobs overseas these days. That's that free market capitalism. I'm against it, I take it you are as well?

By your own numbers then, 50 out of 93 GM plants are located here, in America. If you don't feel that this larger than 50% number is enough to make them Amerian manufacturers, why on earth did you start a thread claiming "Ya just gotta love American Auto Manufactures...."???

Just trolling? Or you just argue both sides in a slippery attempt to change your thesis in the middle of your own thread? You make no sense.

Brazenhussy, if you are looking for things to make sense you may want to look elsewhere. I love our little corner of the web, but making sense is not our strong suit.

I never understood the 'Buy American' nationalism regarding US auto makers. The vast majority of American Toyotas, Hondas, Kias, etc. are made right here in the good old USA by American auto workers. I buy cars based on value and reliability. I own two Toyotas and a Ford, I have owned about every make of car made at some time or another. I've never been real impressed with GM, other than their truck line. My first car was a '69 Chevy C-10 stepside... I wish I still had it.. they are going on ebay for $20k!

IF I buy a new car again, it will likely be a Ford. I was impressed that Ford took no bailout money, and even though my ultimate decision would be on value, all things being equal, I am going for the Ford.

You miss the point of my post.....GM will not honor the warranty and repair defects on vehicles made by their company.....because of the government buyout....
I think that is reprehensible for any auto maker and especially for this manufacturer, who WAS the biggest and best in the US....screw em...

GM NEVER AGAIN.......thats my new motto.....and I'd say to same thing about any auto maker that fucks their customers in a similar way.....

Are you also boycotting banks that took bailouts in 2008, under the EESA?

Because of their bankruptcy. You must be very naive if you believe that any corporation does not use bankruptcy to default on consumer debt. We certainly need corporate bankruptcy reform, however our politicians saw fit only to reform consumer bankruptcy laws. That's because we live in a corpocracy and corporations buy our politicians and order them to pass or not to pass all legislation.

Citizens United of course exacerbated this situation.
