Do you have a Bug Out Bag?

why would you not? if circumstances dictate that you get the hell out of the city and in a damned hurry, you don't have time to pack survival gear. a bug out bag is already set and waiting.

You live in a city so don't worry Jarod, you're fucked if anything happens anyway. My guess you live close to the ocean which is really dumb, because most threats from the ocean happen with little warning.
No, I don't really have a bug-out bag. I probably should, and could put one together pretty fast either way. Where I live I'll have warning, most likely. My plan is to grab a coat, sleeping bag, inverter, guns, ammo, water and snacks, get in my Jeep and drive to my cabin in the mountains. All that stuff is stored close by anyway, so it doesn't really need to be in one bag, per se.

So there's no point in being prepared for a disaster? Don't you think the people of New Orleans would have found one useful following Hurricane Katrina? I swear, there are times that I doubt your ability to dress yourself in the morning. This is quite possibly the dumbest thread I've seen in a long time.

In the event of a disaster, you may be forced to take care of yourself and your family for a few days or even a few weeks. Many people have some measure of provisions for that standing by. Some "bug out" and some "bug in". It depends on your circumstances.
The people of N.O. Had warnings and had time to prepare. A BOB would not have been necessary. It seems like a fear based gimmick to me. Anything to make money!

Um, did you watch coverage of Hurricane Katrina when it hit? Many people were stranded for 48+ hours.
But to each their own. In the event of a disaster, I would survive and you may perish, because you count on the government to wipe your ass.

Its the same thing...it doesn't matter if you prepare it the day before you need it or a year before you need it.....its serves the same purpose....
Why do you have a problem with having it prepared well in advance of needing it ?

Nothing, if the stuff they need is at the house already. But if not, it will all instantly sell out, everywhere.
well I guess that's the issue, I do have all that stuff, it's annoying that they are using fear to sell bob's for almost $600. I have most of that stuff in the house already and the food and water will be fresh. I know a guy who spent thousands on freeze dried food that glen beck was selling, now his garage is filled with disgusting two year old food.
