I’ve never really thought that parable fit true Christianity. But, my understanding of Christianity is the more quiet one, the loud ones are opposite.

No, they know he is guilty as sin, BUT, they thought he would be good for country because he came across as no bullshit and they were tired of bullshit from politicians. As they came to realize he was a lying sack of shit they had to stick with him for 2 reasons, they could not bear having to admit they were so wrong and they could not stomach to see a democrat in his position. Enough of them have come to realize that he is a flaming juvenile asshole that cares for noone buy himself and they would never vote for him again so he will never again win anything but his die hard Nazi's are like screaming children so you still hear plenty of them. Enough that the level-headed republicans would like to tell him to "get fucked you aren't a republican you are a juvenile asshole" but they can't afford to have his Nazi's all say "oh yeah, well fuck you" and not vote republican. They won't win jack shit. So they patronize the asshole and just hope he is jailed or drops dead from a stroke or something and they keep their fingers crossed.
How some are so fucking stupid that even after Jan 6th and so many dumping the asshole that they actually still think he could win an election, that I don't know. I don't think they believe that either, they are just setting the stage for when Trump says he isn't running so they can claim "well, he would have if he ran".
They are angry at other politicians for not committing treason.

Yes. And she is a hard core right winger, not a moderate Republican. However, her right wing politics supported Trump. She is not innocent.
I would say that the alt right is literally going insane, but most were not sane to begin with.
That is the state of the current Republican Party.
