I honestly do not think they care if he is innocent or not, they are haters and care more about Trump than the Nation.

Many reasons. Why did people want Jesus to be a God?
Weak people want some figure to transcend the actual circumstances of life.

Trump is no hero. Jesus was deified because his teachings were Selfless, even to the point of self sacrifice. Trump is the opposite. He’s an antihero. That’s what I don’t understand about wanting to make him a dictator. I think it’s people who had weak fathers, Looking somehow to fill that void.

Mussolini and Hitler. Democracies fall from within. People want a powerful leader to transcend their conditions. Mussolini emphasized the slow process of democracy and how he would make government more effecient.

What is the primary Christian myth? That our own deaths do not defeat us. Many like to think of Americans as very practical people, but Americans are very ideological. People want myth.
