Lovely platitude - but you were just caught in a lie (and anyone can verify that), and you couldn't admit to it. A lot like a political leader we all know.

Progressive ideas have actually been behind almost every positive change we've had, from freeing the slaves to women's suffrage to civil rights.

And still can't admit it.

You'd have more credibility if you just admitted you were wrong about the market crashing. I always think that about Trump, too - he's so afraid to admit he might be wrong about something. But he'd seem like more of a man if he could 'fess up and just move on. More honor, more credibility.

I could have sworn that the big push to free the slaves began in my own home state the birth place of the G O P. Who knew......:laugh:

As honest as pretending that the market wouldnt have crashed because of covid if someone other than Trump would have been the president at the time.

Is that true...or not true? It sounds above like you know that the market crashed....
 
I also DO think that Trump was largely responsible for the crash, due to how poorly he handled COVID. But that's what is called an OPINION. And this board is all about opinions.

If you disagree and want to debate that, that's what I'm here for. But it's not a LIE. It's an opinion.

You make the same point as does Peter Hitchens, basically "I was a fool for all those years trying to debate the issues with these people, they have no interest in debate or in facts or reality, they are out to impose their will by any means necessary".

I really don't know what you're talking about. I didn't lie when I said the market crashed under Trump, and my thinking Trump gave an assist on that is opinion - not a lie.

I have to assume that you simply can't debate that. I'm not sitting here dodging anything.

Exactly. They have a credo that dates all the way back to Lenin. If it furthers the cause it is acceptable,...if it doesnt its not. Morals or fair play doesnt even enter into it,...its all about advancing an agenda. Anything goes.
