regular military isn't going to do anything for the moment. reserve units (those not stationed abroad in the wars) are going to see to their families and avoid any attempt at being called. national guard units are going to be forced with a choice of having to shoot at american citizens and be shot back at or disappearing.

we have no fear of the american military. the federal government is going to ensure its own safety first and foremost. the collaborators (thats you) are going to be left to your own defense. hows that make you feel?

This entire thread is based on a strawman argument and is a blatant attempt at ridicule.

There are plenty of us who own guns and will use them if we feel the federal gov't needs to be overthrown.

The military will not be nearly as effective as you think, since there are far more people in those ranks who sympathize with us than with the gov't.

And the ability of a small number of dedicated rebels to bring chaos to a nation has been well documented.

Unless the rebelion were stuffed in a few days, the masses would cry out for the gov't to give in so they could return to their comfortable lives of watching American Idol, eating McDonalds, and driving wherever they wanted to go.

The american public has no stomach for chaos. Given the choice between losing cable tv, unlimited internet, freedom to drive anywhere, and the gov't putting down a revolution, the public will let the rebels have their way.
