Nunez ran to the Whitehouse with the secret information and trump blew up. He fired Maguire who was just doing his job. Maguire did not factor trump's temper into the equation. Trump fired him for doing his job and replaced him with a Trumpy suckup who is incapable of doing the job. Rightys think that is better.

A senior U.S. intelligence official told lawmakers last week that Russia wants to see President Trump reelected, viewing his administration as more favorable to the Kremlin’s interests, according to people who were briefed on the comments.

After learning of that analysis, which was provided to House lawmakers in a classified hearing, Trump grew angry at his acting director of national intelligence, Joseph Maguire, in the Oval Office, seeing Maguire and his staff as disloyal for speaking to Congress about Russia’s perceived preference. The intelligence official’s analysis and Trump’s furious response *ruined Maguire’s chances of becoming the permanent intelligence chief, according to people familiar with the matter who, like others, spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss a sensitive matter.

It was not clear what specific steps, if any, U.S. intelligence officials think Russia may have taken to help Trump, according to the individuals.

In Moscow, Dmitry Peskov, a spokesman for Russian President Vladi*mir Putin, dismissed the U.S. intelligence analysis.

Well, when were they going to let the president in on it?

And who do you suppose the Russians were helping in 2000, 2004, 2008 or 2012? You don’t know, do you. Nobody does because nobody cared or cared to talk about it.

And how is it there is a seemingly never ending stream of secret information coming out under this president? Sounds like he hasn’t fired enough people, yet. And isn’t it a crime to leak classified intelligence? When will one of these weasels be caught and charged with a crime?

Lastly, [and this should be an obvious point, but sadly it’s not] just because Russia is doing whatever they do to meddle in a national election doesn’t automatically add up to the Russians being in league with whoever they are meddling for. It just doesn’t. Russia is a geopolitical actor so they are going to have ‘policy preferences’ just like voters do. They may have preferred Obama over Romney in 2012—for any number of reasons. That doesn’t make Obama a ‘Russian asset’.

I have not previously heard it referenced the way you did ("double E" or whatever the hell you used) so I asked.
