A recent episode of the Disney+ cartoon series “The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder” is creating controversy for depicting America as a country “built on slavery, which means slaves built this country.” The show, which is rated TV-PG and is marketed for kids, also questions whether Lincoln freed the slaves and states that the descendants of slaves “have earned reparations.”

The episode “Juneteenth,” which aired on February 1, depicts a school performance by the teenaged main characters in which they intone the repeated refrain, “This country was built on slavery, which means slaves built this country.” It goes on to make the assertion that “the descendants of slaves in America have earned reparations for their suffering and continue to earn reparations every moment we spend submerged in the systemic, prejudiced racism and white supremacy that America was founded with and still has not atoned for.”

The scene later states, “We had Tubman, Turner, Frederick D., then they say Lincoln freed the slaves. But slaves were men and women, and only we can free ourselves,” appearing to downplay the role that the 16th U.S. president had in ending slavery in 1863."

Black Americans should be grateful that their 17th and 18th centuries were transported as slaves to America, otherwise they be sitting in a mud hut in the Jungle in Congo or Zimbabwe or Uganda right now. He did that because he believe slavery was IMMORAL, NOT because he believed that freed Black slaves were entitled to become American citizens.In fact he did not believe that, as a group' they would ever be capable of assimilating harmoniously in to mainstream, White, Western, American society (he thought that Blacks were too different from whites to peacefully cohabit, and that this was due to an INNATE (quote) "biological difference" between the two races. Mind you, I have no doubt that the show in question is loaded with hyperbole and pretentious assertions, but the Big Dumb MAGA Dog did not show any in no uncertain terms statements of promoting hate for white Americans.

Now, if it's ASSUMED by the likes of the BDMD that any claims regarding the building of America's financial infrastructure was on the backs of slavery is "anti-white"...then he is inadvertently admitting to the dominance and need of white owning blacks as subhuman slaves. But I doubt he thought it through before he typed.

Oh, and for the record: Reparations first has to pass by a law in the Congress, then ONLY the folk who can show direct ancestry to slaves OWNED BY THE BUSINESS ANCESTRY OF CURRENT CORPORATIONS/BUSINESSES can expect reparations in the current monetary equivalent of 40 acres and a mule. That's how I see it...and it ain't happening in my lifetime.
