Well, again.... as before, I tend to side with conservatives on this subject.
I just read a UK Daily Mail article about it that listed some of the changes they made to the original.
They cast a Columbian actress to play the part of a character whose very name indicates she is white. Obviously they wanted someone more "ethnic" looking. They also changed her backstory from being called "Snow White" because of her pale white skin, to having survived a snowstorm as a child.
How lame can you get?
Then, they changed "dwarves" to "magical creatures" and used CGI instead of live "little people", denying opportunities to human actors.
They changed the dynamic of the relationship between SW and the male love interest I suppose to make it less offensive to women.
I dunno.
Anytime things are done to placate certain groups and not offend anybody, you just end up ruining everything and pissing off everybody.
Personally, I wish they'd just quit remaking the old classics and stick to creating new stories and characters.
Stop screwing around with our childhood memories!!!
If Disney takes a bath on this, they'll deserve it and maybe it will be a valuable lesson for them.
