The economy of Iran brings up a great point. Because it's at the base of both Iran and North Korea's motivations regarding nukes. After August 6, 1945 the nuclear technology race kicked into global gear. A full out nuclear war would be suicidal and probably kill off all mammalian life on the planet. The only reason to even have nukes is defensive. The message is "Attack me and I'll end the world". Notice that the Arab-Israeli Wars stopped as soon as Israel developed nuclear weapons. North Korea, one of the most fucked up dictatorships of our century, learned to play the US for profit just by threatening to develop nukes.
