It was a very expensive show. What purpose did it serve?

Yes, it's much cheaper for China to keep doing what it's doing, ... buying Biden and Democrats. But Taiwan is the world's largest chip supplier, and China could take it easily and Biden would just say, 'told ya' so', ... like he did with Ukraine and Russia.

The US conducts military exercises all the time. Yes, they are very expensive but they are important for both readiness and to prove the maxim "Si vis pacem, para bellum". It's no different with the Chinese or anyone else.
