Legislation to bring Pennsylvania in line with the rest of the country in allowing expert witnesses to testify in sexual-assault trials is currently sitting in the Senate Judiciary Committee, chaired by Sen. Stewart Greenleaf (R).
When reached on the phone, he expressed concerns.
“We have to fine-tune the legislation,” he said. “We’re looking at how other states address these issues. We want the law to apply to cases we want it to apply and not to apply when it’s not relevant.”
