Did Jesus fly to the sky in a UFO?

Could be but why? Such a power could just as easily influence mortal beings instead of confining itself to such a weak vessel. Why not influence thousands of people at once instead of grandstanding in one mortal body?

My belief is that the Almighty created the Universe and everything in it....and maybe a few more universes. Like breaking the rack on a pool table, much of the Universe moves in accordance with the laws of physics. The caveat is that living creatures, especially intelligent ones, can choose to alter the sequence of natural events.
Example: Beavers build a dam that alters a stream. Obviously humans have a great impact on nature. Remember the test to alter the path of an asteroid?

It's exercising choices that make differences in the Universe and may explain why we are here.

New research reveals that when NASA’s DART (Double Asteroid Redirection Test) spacecraft intentionally impacted the asteroid moonlet Dimorphos in September 2022, it didn’t just change the motion of Dimorphos around its larger companion, Didymos; the crash also shifted the orbit of both asteroids around the Sun. Linked together by gravity, Didymos and Dimorphos orbit each other around a shared center of mass in a configuration known as a binary system, so changes to one asteroid affect the other.
I like the way you think.

For all I know, Jesus, Siddhartha, Zarathustra, Confucius, Laozi, Muhammad, were all ultimately agents of some providential design.

Or not.

I think the theologians will say that if free will leads sometimes to evil and suffering, the life of Jesus of Nazareth was God's way of showing it it not aloof to human suffering and was willing to share in human suffering.

Agreed. Is there any doubt that such people advanced human progress? That if not for them, we'd be a much less sophisticated species?

IMHO, the choice between good and evil is one we must all face. We have choices. Some are not always good choices, but still choices.

The quotes below point out the choices we make based upon our character. Look at Trump robbing his own foundation, cheating his clients (like Fat Boy laughs about doing) and taking bribes.

Women, when first meeting a man, often look at how he treats other women such as a waitress and his own mother. It's a good way to judge the character of the man she is with. How he treats a waitress fits in with the Dear Abby quote below.

Google AI: The quote "Character is what you do when no one is watching" is most commonly attributed to John Wooden, the legendary UCLA basketball coach. [1, 2]
It serves as a powerful reminder that true integrity is an internal compass, not a performance for others. [1]

While widely associated with Wooden, similar sentiments have been expressed by several historical figures:

  • John Wooden: Famous for his "Pyramid of Success," he used this to teach players that reputation is what others think of you, but character is who you actually are.
  • Abigail Van Buren (Dear Abby): Often credited with a similar version: "The best index to a person's character is how he treats people who can't do him any good."
  • Dwight L. Moody: A 19th-century evangelist who famously said, "Character is what a man is in the dark."

because Christianity is based on free will, not coercion.

jesus's god does not want your coerced compliance.

you're thinking of satan.
