Did a Republican leak the draft SCOTUS opinion - Almost everyone may comment

When they find the person that leaked this report it is going to be a liberal for sure. My guess is it is going to be a secretary that typed it or a law clerk. A law clerk has a lot more to lose obviously.
all we will know for sure is who ranks low enough that they are willing to throw him under the bus........

The left.

Interesting, so you think the leaker is on the left. (You usually don't hear people on the left associate Libertarian publications with being on the left but the reality is Reason, Cato etc. take positions that people on the left do agree with.)

I didn't say that the leaker is on the left.

I didn't say that the leaker is on the left.

Walt's response to an article by Reason saying go lightly on the leakers was this:

"Whenever you see one side saying we should go lightly on leakers, you know which side leaked the draft."

I asked him what side Reason was on. Your response was the left.

Oh I misunderstood. Sorry.

Bans on Abortion at 20 Weeks

Politicians in Congress have repeatedly pushed bills that would impose a nationwide ban on abortion at 20 weeks of pregnancy. This dangerous, out-of-touch legislation is nothing more than yet another attempt to restrict access to safe, legal abortion.

This is who they want to keep on killing...looks like a human to any sane person
20 weeks is entirely too long to wait.

The overwhelming number of abortions would take place way before that.

if the majority approve of it - leaking it accomplishes nothing

if the majority are angered though- leaking it can theoretically create the political capital needed to stop it from happening.

Seems logical to me

Sure it does, you leak it now to test how it will be received, given you time to soften up the semantics in the final decision, and secondly, anticipating reaction, leak it now rather than waiting till June/July when there will be other controversial decisions closer to the election

And no reaction is going to stop it, this Court is on a political mission, they aren’t changing anything

ok - so lets assume the news is well received

explain what changes if that well received message is received now - vs in 2 months from now.

Nothing to assume, it wasn’t, and Ailito and the rest knew it wasn’t going to be, so get the reaction out now rather than waiting till later when it will be coupled with other controversial cases as the NY gun case so close to the election

I say yes. There is nothing for Democrats to gain by leaking this document. Americans are opposed to overturning Roe v. Wade. Therefore public opinion is not going to change the minds of any of the Five Fucktards that make up the majority of the court. So the most likely reason for leaking the documents was to keep the pressure on those justices NOT to change their minds in some back room deal. And Republicans are dishonest and lack integrity. So it was obviously one of their own that did this.

Discuss

I bet it was Ginni Thomas.

It's possible, perhaps as a test to see reaction before final decisions.

But your assertion that there is nothing for Dems to gain is absurdly naive. Indeed, there is a LOT for Dems to gain here, first off to create a backlash and threat that will make people like Roberts buckle and decide not to support the overturn. Second, it creates a lot of heat in their base, gets some fire under their asses, because they know that the midterms are going to be a big rout for their party unless something like this comes out.

Rioberts doesn't support the overturn. It doesn't matter. Dems have nothing to gain. If this comes out in June, that's better for them politically. Roe was dead either way. Doesn't matter if we found out now or in June.

No, you're a literal retard, I don't think it was a clerk either I think it was one of Obama's political activists playing dress up as judges. This was highly coordinated with fundraising plans between the leaker and the Biden administration and Clinton, the protesters were astroturfed before hand, everyone involved needs to be arrested for fomenting insurrection and placed in 23/7 isolation until they confess, from the leaker to the protesters on the SCOTUS steps. We also need a special committee appointed on day one after Republicans retake the House and Senate along with the beginning of impeachment proceedings against the unelected illegitimate Biden junta for overt treason abs criminal conspiracy with the CCP through Joe's crack head incestuous pedophile bagman son Hunter.

Most Americans oppose abortion and will soon prove it through the ballot box which you would support if you weren't an enemy of Democracy like the entirety of the Democrat party who hate that we the people will now get a say on whether or not we legalize mass infanticide.

You might want to look up the definition of the world 'literal'. Most Americans believe that Roe v. Wade should not be overturned. This is the result in every single poll that poses that question. This decision was closely held within the Supreme Court, so it could not be leaked by someone outside of the court.

The rest just demonstrates that you are batshit fucking crazy.

Go run out in front of a truck...u fucking POS commie bastard

IMHO this is where the meaningful discussions about abortion rights should go. I believe that women should have an absolute right to an abortion in the first trimester, after that, any abortion should be limited by circumstances, and those circumstances are legitimate discussion points. Every other position is just for show.
