DeSantis whines about Biden 'singling out' Florida after state smashes COVID Record

Hello Port Tack,

It is fucking stupid to try and blame immigrants from Mexico for rampant covid in Florida when the governor is an asshole who won't even allow his people to protect themselves. The 2 worst covid states are Texas and Florida and that is precisely where there are asshole governors.

Actually, Louisiana has surpassed Florida in the number of new cases per 100,000, but Florida has more people and more new cases.

I began a thread to talk about keeping up with what's going on, which states:

"States with the highest risk of getting COVID are:

Louisiana Red 4,119 new cases/day 89 per 100K +244%
Florida Red 15,818 new cases/day 74 per 100K +144%
Arkansas Red 1,869 new cases/day 62 per 100K +84%
Mississippi Red 1,475 new cases/day 50 per 100K +276%
Alabama Red 2,391 new cases/day 49 per 100K +199%
Missouri Red 2603 new cases/day 42 per 100K
Texas Red 9,239 new cases/day 34 per 100K"

Highest COVID, Lowest Vax States Are All Republican

I agree it is absurd to blame immigrants when they number in the thousands, and are required by the Federal Government to be COVID-negative prior to entry into the USA, while intransigent Republicans who refuse to get vaccinated number in the millions.

Hello Trumpet,

DeSantis is DePopulating Florida, one COVID death at a time.

And that has been occurring in the hundreds per day.

DeSantis has painted himself in a corner; he has been espousing anti Fauci rhetoric and selling anti- Fauci merchandise to fund his campaign, and now that disaster has struck his state; he just can't reverse direction.

Hello Trumpet,

which is why DeSantis' approval numbers are plummeting

the state's only hope for sane governance is Crist beating him, but that's a long way off

I have remarked that DeSantis is DePopulating Florida, but the truth is that Florida normally grows by around 85,000 people per year as shown by records dating back to 2000.

Florida has been averaging about 85 deaths per day recently during this Delta surge. (although the curve is headed upwards at a remarkable rate.)

85 lives lost per day is around 31,000 lost per year.

DeSantis has apparently done the math.

People are moving to Florida faster than people in Florida are dying.

So for the time being, DeSantis' irresponsibility is not resulting in a net loss of Florida population.

85,000/365 = 233

That means if the death rate in Florida climbs over 233 per day, DeSantis is actually DePopulating Florida.

DeSantis is definitely TRYING to DePopulate Florida.

Look on the bright side.

That could be a good thing for the Florida Aquifer, a unique system of underground water which is the result of rainwater sinking through sand and limestone to flow back up again through numerous once-beautiful once-clear springs which have diminished in flow because of actions by corporations such as Nestle removing millions of gallons per day to bottle and sell as drinking water, and too many nutrients being applied to lawns and crops, which have caused the Aquifer to sprout tons of algae which did not exist just a few decades ago.

Crist is to Florida what Biden was to the USA.

Let's hope that State election comes out the same.
