How is this clear cut story so hard to follow? The migrants had court dates in Florida for presenting their asylum claims. And they wanted jobs. They were told, they said, that jobs could be had where the bus would take them; jobs together with accommodations. They were made to feel welcome and cared about. They ended up in California where they would miss their court dates, where no jobs or accommodations were waiting and where no one was expecting their arrival. It was cruel but good for laughs in the DeSantis crowd. What laws, if any, were broken isn't the point.

In 1982 I was promised a job with a construction company as an electrician helper.... Stated I would be put in a hotel for a month until I could get a place of my own.... When I got there 4 days later no job no hotel room...so I guess they broke what law?
