There are MANY who do not trust this vaccine - anti-vaxxers, and others who think it was too rushed. It doesn't help when people like Carlson are out there saying that people should have doubts.
It absolutely, 100% makes a difference for many who are hesitant to see leaders and other high-profile figures getting this vaccine. That's actually not disputable, at all.

That’s why I said people who take the vaccines are taking part in a Stage IV clinical trial. Not saying I won’t do it [not sure yet] just that it is what it is. My cardio thoracic surgeon buddy won’t take it but he’s maybe 40 years old.
If I was 40 I probably wouldn’t either. With a ridiculously high COVID survival rate in that age population weighed against a vaccine with possible long term effects.

I’m not against the vaccines and I’m not anti-vax.
I am against shaming people if they choose not to take it because they don’t want to accept the risk. It’s their bodies, right? Think of it like abortion rights.
These vaccines haven’t gone through the standard trial procedures. There are risk/benefit considerations to taking it on account of that. For the elderly and at-risk it should be a no-brainer. And again, it is that population that crowds the hospitals so the first emphasis for mitigation is protecting the hospitals.
At least that’s what we were told. Were they lying?
If we don't get to a certain threshold, it won't matter.
Who is talking about "shaming" people? The conversation started w/ talking about high-profile individuals and politicians publicly getting the vaccine to assure people it was safe...remember?
