The teachers are scared to death to do their jobs, afraid to have lending libraries in their classrooms and afraid to teach American Civil War History. They are not allowed to even mention segregation in at least two school districts I know of. The local communities were not allowed to make their own decisions about masks and private businesses were prohibited from making their own decisions about vaccine requirements. The Cruise industry decided the only way they could go back to work at the time was a vaccine mandate but they were prohibited from having one... They remained in port until the Bahamas helped them by making a vaccine mandate, then the Cruise industry was no longer requiring it, just the country they were going to. The government should not be making such business decisions for private companies.

The majority of the teachers are just fine ...in fact they're happy to actually be able just to teach again... without having to worry about all the distractions... they're free to have libraries..
What two districts don't allow segregation to be mentioned..? No problem teaching American Civil War history... But when all is said and done the teachers can go back to teaching and the kids go back to learning what they need to have the best success in the future ... I would guess that the schools that your children attend didn't even skip a beat ... Did cruise ships go out of business?

Jarod and I agree that DeSantis is a better choice to nominate to run for President. Jarod, of course, doesn't quite understand what localized, state, etc. government means as "small government" as opposed to Federalizing the law. State control is "small government" while "big government" is the Federal Government reaching in and taking control of stuff they have no right to. The Federal government's powers are limited by the constitution and limits are largely ignored by "big government" politicians. They apparently never understand what the 10th Amendment means. If the power is not given to the Federal Government, it is appropriate for the state, local, or even the individual to exercise the power and/or right.

Anyway, we agree that DeSantis is a better option than Trump, even though Jarod thinks that DeSantis exercising State power is "big government".

You claim I do not understand, when in fact I simply do not see it from the same lens as you. There is federalism, and that is a different issue, not one relevant to my complaints about DeSantis. Within a State are issues of local control at the City and County level, and at the School District, police department, legal level. There are likely other levels I am not listing. When the Capital of a large State mandates what a School board can do, or what a locally elected prosecutor can do, it is expanding the size of the STATE government and shrinking the authority of the LOCAL government entities, it is taking away local control.

In my opinion, there are some issues in School Districts and other areas where some issues are better left to the people living in that community. You see, at least here in Florida, there are huge differences in different parts of the State. What is good for Hernando County is not what is good for Miami Dade County.
