DeSantis gets out foxed by Disney

The voters of Florida voted for the government to control corporations? When? DeSantis, and the State GOP, ran on a ticket to control corporations?

NEXT

corporations exist because of the state - their entire existence is because states regulated them into existence.

“Copy and paste” is really going over the falls now, he’s got the Gov’t, his Gov’t, creating private corporations, always thought American history is full of episodes of the Gov’t attempting to break up corporations and weigh in their power

Those are my own words moron - what did I copy and paste retardo?

so: you win the award for the day - derp derp

local government? the Board is made up of super wealthy land owners. For every acre you own, you get one vote. Disney owns 67% of the Acres

nice government you are supporting

Walt Disney sits on the board?

The board is elected by land owners in the district. But that doesn't make the people on the board wealthy land owners.

Because board members must also be landowners in Reedy Creek, Disney awards them 5 acres of its property — albeit on inaccessible, undevelopable tracts of land.

Walt Disney sits on the board?

did I say Walt Disney you fucking jackass?

The board is elected by land owners in the district. But that doesn't make the people on the board wealthy land owners.

no - what it does is allow wealthy landowners to control the vote. The Disney Corporation owns 67% of the land. Nice form of government you support jackass

paywall jackass - how about you offer something of use for once

did I say Walt Disney you fucking jackass?
You said the board consisted of wealthy land owners and Disney is the largest land owner.

In reality, the board did NOT consist of wealthy land owners. It was selected by land owners in the district and being a land owner in the district was a requirement to be on the board.

Rather than the land owners being allowed to elect their government. You are supporting a government that is appointed and run by people that don't own land or live in the district. It seems you are the one that has a jackass sort of government.

derp derp.

The state, the county, and cities have elections - by people

this is more like voting for a stock fund - only those that own stock got to vote

Do people that don't live or own land in a locality get to vote or not?
The people that live in Reedy Creek don't get to vote at all now thanks to DeSantis.
It seems you are against local control and instead insist that the state can force a government on a region and not allow anyone in that region to vote for their local government.

you are clearly a moron and a mouth breather

Citizens of a city, county, and state get to vote.

so you might want to sit down for this - Disney owns land to operate the parks

They control about 67% of the vote

Disney is the wealthiest land owner in the district.
And no one named Disney is on the board.

You claimed the board consisted of wealthy land owners. Are you now saying the board doesn't consist of wealthy land owners but rather those land owners VOTE.
Were you lying to us?

No citizen in Reedy Creek gets to vote for their government even though they were able to do so before.

elections are decided by district landowners, who get one vote for each acre they own. And Disney owns two-thirds of the district's property — about 17,000 acres.

The district's next-largest private landowner? Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts of Toronto, which has less than 300 acres.

I don't know if you are just a retard or a liar, but either way, you are wrong

board members have to be landowners

you have to be a landowner to vote in the election and you have to be a landowner to sit on the board

Funny stuff there.

The signed document is an example of the government regulating a corporation by signing a development agreement with that corporation.
IIrony

It will be interesting to see how this dance ends. Did DeSantis know Disney would do this thus allowing DeSantis is political victory without killing Florida's Golden Goose?

IMO, if DeSantis fights this all the way to the Supreme Court, he didn't know. If he doesn't, he did.

Define "landowner"? All members owning the same square foot of property at the Disney World entrance?

does a non-retarded liberal even exist on these forums?

Reedy Creek was formed in 1967

If you do not own land, you are not voting for any changes to things like zoning laws, building codes, and on and on in Reedy Creek

If you want to be on the board - you also must own land. Good news though, Disney owns 67% of the land, so the election is a formality. They nominate the candidate, and if he does not own land to meet the law, they give him a small tract of swamp

This is the form of government the liberals apparently prefer.
