“LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. (AP) — Board members picked by Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis to oversee the governance of Walt Disney World said Wednesday that their Disney-controlled predecessors pulled a fast one on them by passing restrictive covenants that strip the new board of many of its powers.”

“The current supervisors of the Central Florida Tourism Oversight District said at a meeting that their predecessors last month signed a development agreement with the company that gave Disney maximum developmental power over the theme park resort’s 27,000 acres in central Florida.”

DeSanfis’s stooges can’t even use the word “Disney” without the company’s approval, the corporation can sue DeSantis’s appointees personally for any violation, and the the agreement is in effect until perpetuity.

In other words DeSantis’s board is basically powerless, guess Ronnie didn’t figure it ahead of time in his effort to promote his woke wars

In perpetuity or until 21 years after the last decedent of King Charles III currently living passes away or until Walt Disney owns no property within 10 miles of any property owned by the Central Tourism Oversight District.

The signed document is an example of the government regulating a corporation by signing a development agreement with that corporation.

Since when in the conservative Bible does it say governments should “regulate/govern” corporations? I thought free enterprise and capitalism was held dear by the right? You saying DeSantis is a Commie?

Florida state legislature will have the last word on what Disney did. Did I mention that the people of Florida elected DeSantis by the largest margin ever in Florida.

what does the bible have to do with consent of the governed? Citizens of the state want to legislate and rich corporations are throwing loopholes in their path

Doubtful, State Legislature can not dictate how a corporation is organized, and today Ronnie can’t even match Donnie’s numbers in the GOP polls

local government? the Board is made up of super wealthy land owners. For every acre you own, you get one vote. Disney owns 67% of the Acres

Governor DeSantis is risking a total of $5.8 billion in Florida state tax revenue that is being contributed by Disney, along with almost 500,000 jobs in the whole tourism centre.

And not a one of those 500,000 people care one flying fuck about Ron DeSantis's Anti-Gay/Anti-Black History Agenda.

NOT VERY SMART politically!!

I doubt DeSantis would even win re-election as governor now.

Could, Florida is a red State now, and DeSantis, using the power of the State, is doing his best to eliminate any opponents, but his woke agenda will be old in four years and he ain’t shown a hell’va of lot of anything else to offer
