He's not running for VP, and Trump wouldn't accept him as VP anyway because he's now backstabbed Trump by running against him.

DeSaster is running against Trump because the RNC club gave him a boatload of money to do so in an effort to stop Trump from winning again. It's all about hating Trump's nationalism and nominating a RINO to retain the elitist status-quo.
