If, by what I've seen here in rural PA, is what is in farmlands across the US, Trump OWNS farmers. Trump signs outnumber Biden signs 10 to 1 (probably more) in small towns here and even higher in the farmlands.
 
On the bright side farmers refuse to take vaccines so that will increase the supply for Democrats once a good one gets built out-scaled up for distribution. We can give more to undocumented citizens!

This is an irrelevant appeal to history or tradition. When you discuss Europe's healthcare systems, it's no different than "Well, everybody else is doing it..." That doesn't mean the US has to follow suit.

The US would be better off eliminating most of the use of insurance to pay for healthcare and revert to a market driven system. Insurance should be limited to the most serious illnesses and injuries rather than it pay for everything like it's doing now. That's what I've consistently argued. The counter argument is what you give me...

The Europeans are doing it... Red states are doing it... It's fair and equal... Those are all irrelevant appeals. They don't argue any actual reasons or facts to why a government run system would be better.

I don't know about you, but when I go get a semi-annual or annual checkup the doctor's office is occupied by more administrative personnel than providers. They're there to do all the paperwork to get paid for my visit rather than if I just paid for it myself. That's system overhead that could be eliminated for the most part. Along the US - Mexico border, there are more and more high quality medical providers popping up on the Mexican side offering good quality care at very affordable prices--for cash customers. Both Americans and Canadians are driving this business. It's inexpensive because there is low overhead.

The other problem largely unique to the US is how litigious our society is. This has driven the cost of medical provider insurance coverage through the rafters. That too has increased overhead.

Universal insurance is the problem, not the solution.

Makes better sense if one actually knows what they are talking about. If someone is doing something, and it is a better way then what you are doing, anyone with common sense would seek to do it better. Cost of materials is lower as is medication, rent, wages, doctors salaries, etc. I have been to the Mexican side for medical issues, and the quality is not there.
