Dems were wrong about 'Tariffmaggedon'

My own company imports about 80% of our goods from all around the world, so i know first hand what you do not
I don't believe you.
and that is it is our company that gets the tariff bill and no one else.
IF I believed you (I don't), then you must be a really SHITTY negotiator (that part I WOULD believe).

Thank God that our current Commander in Chief is a very GOOD negotiator. He just got done bending the EU over furniture, and as a USA citizen, it was BRILLIANT to see. It's ABOUT DAMN TIME that they pay up.
We then pass that on to our consumers.

:okjen:

I don't believe that you own a company.
So no matter what Fox
You are SOOOOOOO out of touch. Many MAGA supporters purposely do NOT watch Fox News (I'm one of them). They (like me) treat it much like they treat CNN, MSNBC, and the rest of 'em.
and Magat media
You have no idea what you're even saying here.
keeps telling you and the lies you believe, you are wrong, ... and stupid.
Unlike you, I typically do my own research.
We have one item i will use as an example. It is a low margin but high volume item for us.

- manufactured cost we pay is $60
- sales/marketing/customer acquisition costs are $12 per unit
- overhead costs of ~$3
- our sale price is $99
- profit is ~$24

- Tariff additional cost at 30% on the $60 puts it at $78 and would reduce our profit to $6 as WE PAY IT.

We have already raised the price of that item by $18 to our customers and we will keep it there until we are certain of where Taco Trump ends up as we are not just giving up our margin to be nice to Trump.
I don't believe you. Ask me how I know.
Just as companies during covid did not just eat the supply chain increased costs and instead passed those on.
Democrat governors shutting their state economies down due to fear mongering is NOT equivalent to tariff policy.
Only the most stupid of the "Poorly Educated" that Trump loves believes him that sectors, out of the goodness of their heart will eat the cost difference.
It's not about "goodness of their heart"; it's about profits. I already explained it to you.
When China or someone else tells you a good costs $100 and then you add a 15% tariff the US seller just considers it like they bought it from their supplier for $115 and then they mark it up accordingly.
You're still wrong, no matter how many times you keep saying this. Maybe the exporter takes on some of the cost. Maybe the importer takes on some of the cost. It's not just automatically all shifted onto the consumer, if ANY of it even gets shifted onto the consumer. As I said, companies already charge the consumer a price that yields them the highest profits. If they would retain higher profits by simply eating the tariff cost instead of passing it onto the consumer, then that's what they'll do.
They DO NOT say 'oh this is a tariff and we just eat those'.
Maybe the exporter and importer make a deal to share the tariff cost (the exporter still wants to make sales too, you know, so if they have to take a slight hit to make that happen, then they'll do it). It all depends. Maybe the exporter pays for all of it. Maybe the importer pays for all of it. Maybe the exporter and importer share portions of it. Maybe the importer passes some of the cost along to the consumer in the form of higher retail prices. Maybe the importer eats the cost because they still profit a shit ton and they still retain access to all of their consumers (instead of pricing some of them out).

There's a lot of ways that it can play out, but what data shows (historical during Trump 1.0, and current during Trump 2.0) is that, generally speaking, the prices of goods/services DID NOT and ARE NOT rising "due to tariffs". It's a media lie meant to scare people into opposing economic/trade policies that are actually benefitting them for a change.
It is simply just another cost passed on to the consumer before adding in the other costs and then making your margin.
Still wrong.

The same way Dems lie through their teeth in this forum, Dems in the news lied about tariffs, and now they look like fools.
