Once that gets fixed, the president will ride another credibility roller coaster: truthfully describing whether the Affordable Care Act is working as designed.
All the attention on his law’s launch-pad disaster may have distracted people from the fact that the underlying pursuit is a very tough one.
If healthcare.gov had launched perfectly, there still would have been a huge debate over whether Obamacare was working as promised.
Were younger people signing up?
Were the risk pools in various regions of the country filled with the right kinds of policyholders necessary to keep premiums in check?

Several reasons. One is that they're coming home to a dismal job market despite Obama's assurances that the private sector is doing fine.
Secondly, government can not run a health insurance program. Which is why the Veterans Administration doesn't do well enough by them.

The eligibility requirements leave 1.3 million veterans without health care benefits, alongside 0.9 million members of their families.
Uninsured veterans tend to be younger than those with coverage and also less likely to have sustained an injury in combat. Uninsured veterans also tend to have higher rates of unemployment and lower levels of income and are less likely to be married — all of which lower the odds of receiving private coverage.
The expansion of coverage under the Affordable Care Act could lower the uninsured rate among veterans — not by targeting them specifically, but by expanding health insurance to lower-income populations. Nearly half the uninsured veterans would become eligible for Medicaid, which will expand to cover all those with incomes under 133 percent of the Federal Poverty Line. Others will qualify for subsidies to purchase private insurance coverage on the individual market.
Is it your opinion that VA is a failure? Can you honestly look the other way when the GOP allows the government to shut down regardless of the pain and suffering? Can you honestly discount the fact that Congress' failure to act and prevent a lapse in appropriations causing VA not to be able to reduce disability claims?
