In an interview, Sanders said he is lobbying for Ellison and argued that the DNC needs to be reoriented so that it becomes less of an insider’s club “preoccupied” with raising money and more of an advocate for the concerns of the working class.

“You can’t tell working people you’re on their side while at the same time you’re raising money from Wall Street and the billionaire class,” Sanders said. “The Democratic Party has to be focused on grass-roots America and not wealthy people attending cocktail parties.”

What was it, 4 or 5 months ago that the Republican Party was supposed to become extinct? All of sudden the party has never been stronger in my lifetime and the Democrats are in total disarray.

It's been an amazing year in domestic politics.

Democrats need to choose between identity politics and working class voters. From now on they won't have both.

An election like this can really galvanize the losing party.

In a way, they'll probably look back on Hillary losing as one of the better things that could have happened.

Absolutely. The Democrats have been the party of Clintons/Obama so long the best thing that could happen would be to get rid of both and find some fresh leaders.

That will be less challenging than finding a direction they want to go in.

Sanders never intended to give Hillary a serious run....when he said forget the emails, he put the first of many nails in his coffin...
Mr. Freeshit and Mrs Bullshit ... neither is a viable candidate....

If you've lived long enough, you've seen what the Clintons have gotten away with for decades..... obvious crimes....
they had the most powerful political machine in years, it rivaled Mayor Daleys political crime machine in Chicago....
how they gathered a group of such loyalists together is amazing....

They need to remake themselves but they have no leadership to make it happen.

The media is still in the pocket of the liberal Democrats.....they can be whatever they tell the media they are and their loyalists won't think to question it....

IMHO, Obama's goal was to bring this country down to the point where we indeed would only have 2 "distinct" classes...rich and poor. Eliminate the working class with its can-do spirit, Bibles & guns. And, severely restrict and regulate private business. In 8 years look how many middle working class citizens have been reduced to welfare and food stamps. That was by design. Get all the "un-rich" completely dependent on the government plantation as it could and keep them voting for the "masters" to provide them with worldly goods. Those at the top enjoy their wealth while tossing crumbs to the proletariats.

For the low information voters out there...Proletariat: The proletariat is a term for the class of wage-earners (especially industrial workers), in a capitalist society, whose only possession of significant material value is their labor-power (their ability to work)

Dude it's been happening since 2010 in the US Congress and most state legislatures. Hussein the Obama was the best thing that ever happened to the GOP.

That too is going away with the rise of the internet and easy access to information. Drudge is the best example. Few if any young people even subscribe to a television service never mind watch network or cable news. The go to a news consolidator or a handful of websites that they like.

Libs used to crow that their movement was inevitable. Facts got in the way of that pipe dream.

Not at the moment. Republicans need to not make the mistake democrats did in thinking they're going to govern in perpetuity just because they won an election.

The onus is on the Republican Party; and specifically Trump and the movement he inspired.

Only if they understand why they lost. Otherwise they are destined for further failure.

Do you have any idea how Obama has completely decimated the democrat party?

They are truly in the wilderness now

They aren't galvanizing; they are rioting which will just further isolate the wackos from mainstream America.

Weeks ago idiots like you on the left were predicting the demise of the Republican Party; today, we are watching the Democrats implode.
