Yes & no.
Truth is every group appear to be both perpetrators & victims of prejudices.

Maybe not at equal proportions.

My experiences on Puerto Ricans is there is almost non existent stereotypes against them in the USA.

How ever Blacks are often victims of prejudices.
So are Poles.

The differences are prejudices against Polea are more often.
But, for Blacks they can be more serious.

I saw how skaters in my hometown of Putnam Lake, NY in the early 2000s attacked my Jamaican Black friend with racial slurs, rocks slung at him & fireworks shot at him.

That's worse than ridicule for Polish ancestry.

Still.
More people also acknowledge Black suffering & prejudices.

But not Polish ones.

Obamacare was based on a model created and conceived by The Heritage Foundation, a far right think tank funded and supported by the likes of Richard Mellon Scaife, the man who was principally responsible for the Paula Jones lawsuit that led to the impeachment of Bill Clinton.

This health care model, which Obamacare was based upon, was the GOP's alternative to Hillarycare in the 90's, fully supported by the entire Republican Party under the leadership of Newt Gingrich and Trent Lott.

It was nowhere close to progressive and the GOP only opposed it because Obama proposed it.

As for the issue of illegals, Trump proposed trying to build a massive impenetrable wall along the border.

Nothing progressive about that.

Obamacare is Republican.

Republican Reagan gave illegals amnesty.

Republican Warren Burger implemented Abortion.

As for walls Socialist Nazis & Soviets loved them.

That's only because throughout history, whites have been the dominant race in the western hemisphere and as such, we have a long history of being prejudiced and discriminatory towards all the other less powerful, less dominant races.

So the feeling is that we're getting our due or getting what we dished out.

A taste of our own medicine as it were.

Temporary thing that won't last forever.

Doesn't really apply to many European groups that's the problem.

Like Poles,Irish Catholics, Finns, Lithuanians, Swiss, Ukrainians, Norwegians,Czechs, Greeks, Albanians, Serbians, Estonians, Hungarians, Belarusians, Bulgarians, Latvians.

Arabs & Brazil the biggest slave trader state

Poland the first to end slavery in Europe permanently.

Poland the first victims of Auschwitz.

Why can some Brazilian descrnded from Portuguese slave traders get Affirmative. Action?

Why can some Argentinaean born to Nazis from Germany get Affirmative Action because of coming from a Latino country?

Why shouldn't a Ukrainian war refugee from Donbass be denied it instead?

Ukraine suffered enormously & still does.

From numerous Stalin, Hitler & now Putin actions.

There are also the German-Americans and Italian-Americans who were put in interment camps as recently as the forties. The government treated these groups terribly, but don't give them AA, because they're white.

I'm not even sure what you mean by "apply for" or "get" affirmative action.

It's not like anyone is sending out affirmative action checks or benefits.

Afaik, it just has to do with hiring and education programs or possibly quotas.

I suppose the rationale behind it is that non-whites have been placed at a disadvantage due to inherent prejudices in society and as such, need to be more represented in the workforce, including upper levels that require higher education, etc.

I don't think the Pollack jokes of the 70's equate to the same level of discrimination.

That's true. There was lots of racism against various white groups, mainly from Southern/Eastern Europe. But for me, the biggest one was the internment camps because it was actually the government doing it. That's something that even Blacks haven't experienced in America. Blacks experienced racism, but they were never considered enemies of the state and then put into camps like the Italians, Germans, and Japanese.

There's a lot of prejudices against Poles.

Beyond just dumb Polak jokes which are used to dehumanize Poles like Nazis had.

I'm half Irish & half Polish.

If I wear Ireland shirts I get a strong reception.
If I wear a Poland shirt I get smirks & laughter & called a dumb Pokak even by from some.

Polish prejudices
Also include seeing someone yell dumb Polak at me hostile like he might fight me.

A German American I took to a Polish restuarant saying how are Poles smart enough to run a restaurant & before crying about Poles taking German land.

Another Irish/ Italian guy said I wasn't in the club because I'm half Polish.

I think you don't know what Poles go through in this country.

A lot of it is because if biased Liberals neglecting us.

The media & Hollywood still mock Italians a lot.

Its interesting the Simpsons got criticized not for the thug idiot Italian stereotype Fat Tony.
But the more loveable & hard working Hindu Apu stirred much controversy.
