You got that right; Dixie started a thread w/ that quote, which originally came from Palin.
Not sure if I got the wording exact, though...
Buck up or stay in the truck.

elections have consequences!
Buck up or stay in the truck.
Yes, and the sobbing weeping Boehner will lead you all to victory! He and Glenn Beck will make quite a pair in the next couple of years.democrats can ride in the back!
No argument there.
I'm just curious how the GOP is going to play this now. Do they go for some actual legislative wins, which will mean trying to meet Obama halfway, or do they go full-on to try to take him down in '12, so they can get the agenda they want through without watering it down too much?
And what of Obama? I'm not sure if he has a Clinton in him; he might go for sheer defiance.
As a side note, for a political message board, the activity is a bit sad for an election eve...
I sick of this shitty Economy these house Republicans have us mired in. They won the house a half an hour ago and my wife is still unemployed!
Practicing for the run-up to 2012 already, I see! I expect this will become the main battle cry for Democrats across the board. Because things are not about to suddenly get better, in fact, expect things to get much much worse. I saw some dismal projections today regarding the impending inflation we are facing, and with the Federal Reserve warming up the money machine (they plan to print 500bil to 1tril) by this time next year, consumer prices will be about 30-40% higher across the board, and rising. So there's that... But the main thing is, Republicans still don't control the Senate, and can't pass any legislation, and even if they did, Obama would veto it.
What you are likely to see from this Congress, is Republicans stopping the Obama agenda and spending. The first big fight will be over the budget, since the Democrats put that off until after the elections. There might even be a government shutdown, because you won't have "compromising" Republicans who blink this time. Yes, things are going to get a LOT worse, and you pinheads will all be here moaning and writhing about it being the fault of mean old republicans who won the mid-terms, and we'll just have to put up with that until 2012, when we can send another "murder" of Democrats packing for home, including the one in the White House.
LOL
Already making excuses. How pathetic from the poster who called this the "Obama Recession" in Novermber of 2008.
As for spending, show me the 1st meaningful effort by the GOP to cut the military budget, and I'm in.
I love the pre-emptive spin, though. Man, are you in for it over the next 2 years. Welcome back to power...
Welcome back to power...
Might want to read the title of this thread again, bozo! It appears, Republicans aren't actually in power, they control the House. Now, that's a useful tool, it will keep a lot of this Obama agenda shelved for the next two years, but to effectively govern, to pass legislation, we will need control of the Senate and the White House as well... and we'll have that in January of 2013... you can start blaming Republicans for things then, until that time, we'll keep hanging it all around the neck of Democrats, and Barack Obama. Thanks!
It's so cool how defensive you are already.
Your own standards (the House holds the purse strings!) getting turned on you.
I don't know why you'd want the GOP to control so many things, Dix - ya know, since you think Republicans "work better in the minority, anyway!"

whoever is in office will be blamed if the economy does not improve
after, all the pledges that the rat pack (reps) made, if they do not deliver there will be another political revolution...against them
...if they do not deliver...
The Republicans only won such an exaggerated victory because of gerrymandering. The Democrats have lost elections in terms of seats in which they gained as many votes as the Republicans had during complete and total "landslides" like 1994. The system is horribly biased to favor the bad guys. The 2006 and 2008 cycles were greater victories in terms of votes, and combined the seat gain was greater. And the Republicans are going to lose it all in 2012 anyway.
