Democrats master plan to deny the black vote

When I see some of these Trumptards comments, I go through several emotions all the way from shock to LMAO!

Really. They ran the gamut from "Republicans aren't closing minority polling places" to "Democrats think black voters can't drive" to "Oh never mind [once proof of closed polls was provided], let's talk about something else." :rofl2:

MAGATARDS! They've really made a name for themselves!

I don't know of any polling locations that were closed... if you have no examples I'm not sure why you're discussing it or alleging that it happened and caused a problem..

You don't know of any probably because of your politically selective observations. How is this?:

"Almost 21,000 Election Day polling places have been eliminated heading into the 2020 U.S. election, a drastic dip in voting locations driven by a heavy shift to mail voting, coronavirus-related consolidations, cost-cutting measures, and voter suppression.

VICE News obtained data from all 50 states and Washington, D.C., on the number of physical polling locations they will have in place on November 3, and compared their numbers to how many sites they had in 2016 and 2012.

The net result of all of these changes: A 20% dip in polling places across the country from 2016, and a 22% drop since 2012. And while the coronavirus pandemic has accelerated this trend, it didn’t create it: There were more than 3,000 fewer polling locations in 2016 than in 2012.

Closing this many polling places at such a vast scale really does affect voters. Fewer polling places can lead to longer lines, longer wait times, and hurt people, particularly people who are disabled or don’t drive and rely on public transportation,” said Leigh Chapman, the voting rights program director at the Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights.

What emerged was a patchwork of cuts large and small across the country. Many states made these cuts as they were expanding mail voting — 23 states made it easier to vote by mail this year because of COVID. But the overall trend is clear: Most states are eliminating polling locations, a trend that could disproportionately impact poor, young and non-white voters.

OMFG. Are you really this stupid? If a committee passes something does that mean the legislature or the city council also passed it and it became law?

The council's budget committee met to discuss changes to Mayor Jacob Frey's proposed amended 2020 budget.

https://www.npr.org/2020/12/10/9449...lice-funding-but-keeps-force-at-current-level
The Minneapolis City Council has voted to shift almost $8 million in police funding to expand other services, including violence prevention and mental health crisis response teams. But, in the face of a veto threat from the mayor, the council also voted to keep its police staffed at current levels,
Are you claiming you are defunding something if you cut their budget by less than 5%? Is the GOP planning to defund Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security, Education, National Parks, etc?
The $8 million is a small part of the overall police budget of $179 million.

Ultimately it was decided in a city referendum which was required to change the city charter in order to eliminate the police department and create a public safety department instead.

Minneapolis voters reject a measure to replace the city's police department

It's easy to find this information; the problem here is, of course, that the Reichwingers refuse to acknowledge it. Here's another, from a credible source:

Southern U.S. states have closed 1,200 polling places in recent years: rights group

Toxic TOP says she lives in Columbus Ohio. I viewed one article earlier that said that two polling places near Ohio State Univ. were also closed. Gee, why would they do that? Would it have anything to do with college students tending to vote for (D) candidates over (R) ones?

Given her contributions to this thread she appears in danger of getting lost in the Right wing swamp, like poor Earl did.

She's not lost in that swamp. She got her a nice little shack right next to the Newsmax sewage pipe that keeps it filled. lol

Your link simply says, "NOTHING FOUND".

Seems appropriate. Good work.

 :rofl2:

I seldom click on any of her links; that's what always happens. Poor "teacher." lol

Here you go...https://www.thelantern.com/2021/10/...y-district-ohiounion-columbus-franklincounty/ You're welcome... neither one of those closings even caused a hiccup ...Go Bucks!!

We've seen in the news, those of us who bother to look, discouragingly long lines at city polling places. Sometimes it is necessary to obtain court orders keeping the polls open late, with voters waiting hours to cast a ballot.
I assume this hasn't happened to you. Unfortunate you seem not even to know about it.

They are long lines here in some places but they move very quickly ...there are so many different places and different options when it comes to voting... there our organizations that you can get in touch with if you need a ride to the polls... every District should be responsible for seeing that if someone wants to vote there is a way... I'm aware of it ...I just don't place the same blame when there is a difficulty that you do... if a particular place has to shut down then make arrangements for those people to be accommodated elsewhere... why is that an impossibility?
..

Every right has limits. Voting should be no different.
