Democrats lost over 1,000 seats under Obama

It's amusing that liberals put the cult label on Trump supporters when they've been the cultists for 8 years.

Obama can win the WH because he's black and personally likable but his policies suck. There's no putting lipstick on the 1000 seat loss pig.

Under-ticket democrats can only support Obama in the Hyper Blue precincts. Everyone else has to run away from him, and it's been that way for 8 years now.

However you want to speculate about Obama winning a third term on his cult of personality, his policies and agenda got rejected in November.

The country has been taken over by the stupids.

There isn't anything I can do about it. It's a drag, but it is what it is.

People are stupid because they vote for Republicans in their state?

Isn't that Desh level thinking? If you don't vote like I want you to you're stupid?

It's stupid to vote for someone to avoid the possibility of being branded a racist regardless of his record.

Think of it as a war. Your side won one coast and half of another. Their side won half a coast, the gulf of Mexico, and everything in between.

Losing isn't as hard as you make it out to be, and besides, it's all over.[/QUOTE

Too funny, "think of it as a war," and then he goes on to describe the election as if he was playing the game Risk

Wrong again. His policies were validated by 3 million votes.

And yet they came up short lol.

They came up short on the EC. But you morons keep harping on the rejection of Obama's policies by the electorate. That's horseshit. Through Clinton, the electorate embraced his policies by that margin. That the idiosyncrasies of the EC elected Trump is s different matter.

This article is about much more than the Presidency. A lot of stuff happens at the state level as well and this is where future leaders get their start.

And you math challenged idiots keep harping on the 3 million when it's a meager number compared to the 120 million that voted. Not to mention the 1000 seats you lost under Obama.

But if you think Obama's policies are so great, I encourage you to keep running on them.

Let's go over this again. Slowly. On more than one thread, you idiots claim that Obama's policies were rejected. That's horseshit. That Clinton amassed 3 million MORE votes says the opposite. And that's not insignificant.

they lost me. I voted for Republican president for the first time in my life -and that includes George McGovern.

They got no message -and I give them credit for Health care, but even that was becoming "unaffordable" ACA

HAHA, you voted for McGovern! :pke:

I encourage your party to keep running on them lol.

Do it, please.

President Obama claims he could have won a third term if he had been allowed to run – but even if he's right, his coattails haven’t done much for the rest of his party.

While Obama’s tireless campaigning, broad demographic appeal and message of “hope” and “change” helped propel him to two terms in the White House, his skills on the stump haven’t translated down the ballot.

The Democratic Party suffered huge losses at every level during Obama’s West Wing tenure.

The grand total: a net loss of 1,042 state and federal Democratic posts, including congressional and state legislative seats, governorships and the presidency.

The latter was perhaps the most profound example of Obama's popularity failing to translate to support for his allies. Hillary Clinton, who served as secretary of state under Obama, brought the first family out for numerous campaign appearances. In September, Obama declared that his “legacy’s on the ballot.”

Less than two months later, Americans voted for Donald Trump.

OBAMA: I COULD HAVE WON THIRD TERM

But 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue wasn’t the only locale to see a big partisan change since Obama took office in January 2009, according to figures from Ballotpedia.

Democratic U.S. Senate seats fell from 55 to 46. Their share of the House plummeted from 256 seats to 194. Republicans still control both chambers going into the next session.

Democratic governerships also became a rarity during this eight-year period, slipping from 28 to 16.

The Obama years, which saw the rise of the Tea Party as well as a new movement form around Trump that is still being defined, coincided with a loss of 958 state legislative seats for Democrats.

Still, Obama said in an interview which aired Monday that, if he were allowed to run for a third term, he would have been victorious.

Over 1,000 seats out of how many total that were contested during Obama's terms?
