A made the point in another thread that a victim would quickly expire after the first major artery was severed. So I doubt this person was ‘sawed to death’ while he was alive. I suppose they could apply some sort of tourniquet after lopping off an arm or a leg but it’s doubtful. Also, people tend to resist having their limbs cut off—it’s not the easiest thing to do when they’re under anesthesia.

They may have killed him and cut him into pieces to send a point. But the account as it’s being reported doesn’t seem plausible to me.
