Actually, today a liberal arts degree from a major university generally makes you stupid. Not just run-of-the-mill, common stupid, but stupider than nature allows. In nature, the sort of stupid universities produce kills itself off. But universities protect the stupid from this occurring, so you get sort of mega-stupid people.

Luckily, we now have social media sites where these mega morons can go and make public fools of themselves, not to mention giving us ample warning of who they are.
