Too bad the Dems cannot actually do anything of merit. Over 600 Oversight hearings thus far... Go Dems... no time to waste on getting pork out of the budget, who cares about social security reform, who cares about educational reforms, who cares about actually defunding the war they hate so much... there is NO time to actually accomplish anything.... must have hearings... must have hearings....

In order to get certain Ds to vote for their withdrawal limitations the first time they had to add so much pork Bush was seen running after it with his red VETO pen shouting, "Here piggy, piggy soooieeee!"
 
The republican congress didn't do any oversight for 6 years. That was part of their job. There's a lot of catching up to do.

When the constitution is under assualt, Congress damn well be doing investigations and oversight. When tens of billions of taxpayer dollars have been flushed down the toilet and given to corrupt contractors in Iraq, I want someone held accountable.

As for accomplishments: they passed minimum wage, the passed children's healthcare, they passed the 9/11 commission recommendations, they passed stem cell bill, they passed the college student loan bill, and they're on the verge of breaking the GOP fillibuster on ethics reform and passing that.

that's more in seven months, than the GOP did in the last four years.

I know. Now their mantra is... well the Rep congress didn't do anything so we have to play catch up.

translation "the Rep Congress didn't enact socialist policies that were to our liking so now we are going to try to force some more ill-conceived ideas down the throats of those evil evil Reps."

Back on topic, I thought Republicans were scandal freaks. Remember the Monica scandal. And the star chamber investigations of clowntoon ?

Reference the Title. The Republicans make it very easy for them.

As for the rest of your post, Give them time. six years -vs-six months??? and not veto-proof as the reps had been.

That was actually one of the points the author of the piece stated. He said it is very similar to the childish antics the Reps did while trying to "find" something on fattylover

Democrats are doing what people elected them to do - provide a check on out of control GOP power. That includes oversight and investigation. The two top issues for voters last november were Iraq and government corruption - remember?

Actually I agree... there are many reasons to go after Bush... but they are also trying to create their own scandals... just as this article suggests.

Yes, those were two of the top issues. On Iraq, the Dems have shown they will not defund the war, but they will try to illegally take on the role of CIC. On government corruption, they have shown that they are every bit as corrupt as the Reps (which all but the kool-aid drinkers have known for quite some time). They said they would take the pork out of the budget only to toss as much pork as they could in the very first bill they had. The sooner you realize they are just as corrupt as the Reps, the better off you will be. Quit being one of the sheep.

No, they are merely feigning nobility in the name of political expedience. Remember, their first interest is in gaining and maintaining power. If the Iraq war was still the same bloodbath that it is, but popular, your guys would be on the other side of the fence.

I actually like seeing the Congress becoming a pain in the ass for the BA, but its political maneuvering 11 times more than it is doing their job.
