Democrats against education...

Again, charter schools are NOT public schools...if they were, then they WOULD NOT have a separate title, standards, etc.

LMAO... Again, one is run by a private entity, the other by the state... but BOTH are public schools. They are open to the public. They do not charge a fee to get in. PRIVATE schools do that.

YOU ARE A SUPER FREAKING LIAR, BECAUSE I SUPPLIED TESTIMONY AND OFFICIAL DEFINITIONS AS TO HOW CHARTER SCHOOLS DEAL WITH TEACHERS http://www.justplainpolitics.com/sh...crats-against-education&p=1468796#post1468796

And Again... nothing in your links says that teachers are on call 24/7. Nothing. Which is why you refuse to quote the actual comment that you say exists.

YOU are a willfully ignorant neocon/teabagging clown, who doesn't have the guts or the honesty to read any material that contradicts your beliefs. I read what you provide, which is why I can easily prove you wrong. All you are hoping for is for an excerpt that you can try to take out of context and divert your original failures.

Except that you haven't read a thing. Or you wouldn't continue saying that Charter schools are not public schools.

Now, be a good fool and state that nowhere in the information I provide does it state or allude to the FACT that charter school teachers are on call 24/7, as their work load dictates. Then and only then will I humiliate you with quotes, and then watch you squirm.

1) There is no, I repeat no 'FACT' involved. I do note that you are now CHANGING your comment to say that it 'states or 'alludes' to' ... back tracking already?

2) By all means, produce the 'quotes'... I have asked you time and again to do so. Somehow I get the feeling you will run away again rather than do so.

A charter school is an independently run public school granted greater flexibility in its operations, in return for greater accountability for performance. The "charter" establishing each school is a performance contract detailing the school's mission, program, students served, performance goals, and methods of assessment.

Charter schools offer an institutional hybrid. Like traditional public schools, charter schools are free, and they can’t discriminate against students because of their race, gender, or disability. However, parents must usually submit a separate application to enroll a child in a charter school, and like private schools, spaces are often limited. Charter schools are independently run, and some are operated by for-profit private companies.

However, charter schools are still funded by government coffers and accountable to the government body — be it state, county, or district — that provides the charter. (Many successful charters do substantial additional fundraising as well.) If a school is mismanaged or test scores are poor, a charter school can be shut down.

[h=3]What is a charter school?[/h] A charter school is a public school of choice that operates under the terms of a charter, or contract, with an authorizer, such as the state and local boards of education. Charter schools receive flexibility from certain state and local rules in exchange for a higher degree of accountability for raising student achievement. Charter schools are held accountable by their authorizer(s) for upholding the terms of their charter.

Charter schools are public schools that operate under charters and have been released from some of the regulations governing traditional public schools. Charter schools tend to have limited enrollment and usually accept students through an application process. The following are the nation's top charter schools, as calculated by U.S. News. Read the full methodology.

And to put the kibosh on this Super Freaking Liar, here are quotes by teachers from the articles he didn't read:

Our workload is a favorite theme of the school’s superintendent and CEO. Charter school leaders love these business style titles. Dr. CEO often chuckles during all-staff meetings at how we charter school teachers work harder than they do in Boston Public Schools and get paid less for our troubles. Apparently he doesn’t know how insulting this is. Last December a group of administrators entertained us during a holiday party with a school version of ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas that included a verse about how little we get paid for our hefty workload. That was the last time I worked a ten-hour day and the moment I knew I had to quit.

The second thing to know is that we work very hard at my charter school, completing endless tasks that are not designed to instill habits of critical thinking in our students. Rather we are driven like cattle to collect mounds of data, to divvy the data up into tidy and irrelevant skill categories, and finally to create individual action plans to remediate each student’s poor data points. We are required to write lesson plans that note exactly which discreet skills we will be working on during every minute of every school day while delivering scripted programs. It takes hours to make these plans and we don’t use them. Can’t use them. Because kids are unpredictable and surprises happen. Most of us work at least ten hours on every weekday preparing our rooms and teaching. We continue working on weekends. The building is open on Saturdays and during vacations and there are a lot of cars in the parking lot on these days off.

Public schools are now forced by the state to follow the unproven privatized model of charter schools: decreased job security, lower salaries, eroded benefits, larger classes, and ever greater responsibilities. All parents and citizens should be concerned about the implications for the education of our future generations.

And the truth emerges.

Nothing to do with the kids, or their educations.

It's about the teachers' unions.

Maybe you missed the part about "larger classes" and "greater responsibilities". Instead of guessing what that entails, go back and read the articles I linked.
