Democratic donors call for Clinton campaign post-mortem

Why? The Republicans didn't. They didn't think "We're the party of Trump & xenophobia" even a year+ ago.
do they want to go more left? ( Warren/Bernie). Do they want to go more to the center ( the guy from S.Carolina who's running for DNC chair)..

I don't think lightening is going to strike 2x , and have a populist emerge like Trump.
Whatever one thinks of Trump he came in from the cold and rolled the establishment -even Bernie couldn't do that, but he came close.

just because people live near each other that doesnt mean they cancel each other out

Ergo:
This is why the founders choose to utilize the EC, instead of allowing areas with a higher population density being able to control the voting outcome and thereby the country.

The Democrats need to determine who they are before they determine where they want to go.
I agree with that.

But, this doesn't have to be some big change.

Let's remember that:

- MORE people voted for Clinton than had EVER voted for a man in ANY previous US presidential election.

- Dems have won the plurality in 6 of the last 7 presidential elections.

So, better focus is always better. Better candidates is always better. But, this isn't some sort of emergency.

it's more then POTUS though..it's the statehouses, the Congress..they need some new blood.

The problem for democrats is how to attract jobs/economy first voters, without giving up on their race/gender and climate change fantasies and obsessions.

They won't be able to have it all ways at once. Something will have to give.

It's a little toned down, but I was looking for this - I actually thought we might go a whole day without one of your "what Democrats need to do" posts.

I think the main problem for democrats is they are genuinely a bunch of antichrist islamic dupe assed space cadet, genuinely delusional, zombie like reprobates. they do bring sodom and gomorrah to life again. I know that I am witness to the "forcing of themselves"/ usurpation upon those who are vexed daily with the filthy conversation of the wicked workers of iniquity.

Do you have any idea, how many times in the past 8 years conservatives got told 'they need to do this or they need to give up that' by liberals and the media.

I'm thankful we were delivered from yet another round of it. Shut up and take your medicine.

You are right as they already lost their core base (I was one of them). Now they are creating a new one filled with minorities that must be supported in order to survive. Some would call that slavery.

Lifelong Democrat here also -i'm from Maryland for Buddha's sake..I am so done with them until they start taking things seriously,
and not crying about PC bullshit.

They are a bunch of whining elitists. forget them until they incorporate some populism

Sort of begs the question---exactly what is the democrat base?

it appears to be undocumented workers, minorities and lazy people that sit at home, increased rolls of disability all controlled by a group of elites made up of life long politicians with backing of billionaires.

it used to be working middle class.
The Repubs aren't any better-only the populism of Trump makes any sense going forward.
Forget the establishment -only interested in themselves.

I voted for Trump but I'm interested to see how serious he is about wresting control of the party from establishment wing. I'm not wholly convinced he'll end up any different than the rest.

There are some encouraging early signs but I'm not there yet.

But Trump has an opportunity to change the party for good.
