Democrat governors generally unpopular

Hmm, I don't know. This from a link within your source article: https://morningconsult.com/2021/11/18/phil-scott-approval-vermont-polling-senate-race/

No one saw Jimmy Carter coming.
No one thought Slick Willy could get a 2nd term, much less Obama.

We'll see.

Jimmy Carter was the obvious result of the Nixon Watergate scandal. Nobody expected Ford to do anything but warm the chair until the next election when a Democrat would win.

Clinton was a savvy enough politician to see what side his bread was buttered on. He tacked hard Left initially, and that resulted in a massive loss in Congress flipping it Republican for the first time in decades. It was a body blow to the Democrats. Clinton shifted to being a left-of-center centrist and worked with Republicans. That got him reelected.

Obama came in with super-majorities in both houses of Congress only to see them lost and the Republicans take control in the mid-terms. He survived reelection on two primary grounds:

He could get near 100% of the Black vote giving him about a 2 point advantage overall

His opponent in the reelection was Romney, a spineless RINO who was little more than a weasel and people knew it. But Obama lost congress, and not by small margins because people wanted split government.

With the Orange Man and the Hildabeast, it was a choice between awful and evil. People chose awful over evil.

Now we have a Leftist running things and a very much split Congress. People are going to choose split government and Congress will end up Republican, and not by a small margin. The question is will the Republicans fuck that up or will they ram a popular agenda down Biden's throat to the detriment of the Democrats.

Ahh, but remember that Carter wasn't on the DNC radar, much less nationally.

And that's why he's called Slick Willy! Michael Moore once stated that Slick was the best thing that ever happened to the GOP. I initially voted for him as the lesser of 2 evils...I couldn't and didn't vote for his second term.

the loss of the House to the GOP in the mid term elections under Obama happened during towards his second term, as the voters who put him in office were pissed that he wasn't fighting hard enough for the principles that got him there, so they opt out of voting all together as a sign of protest (bad move, as history showed). They should have read the man's record, as he was always a "right of center" democrat. But it was the black vote coupled with a resurgence of the Dems, Independents and flipped Repubs that got him his second term (thanks in part to his fight to turn the economy around).

Agree with your first part about Dump and Hilly, but do remember that he lost the popular vote and just barely won the electoral, if memory serves correctly.

You can thank gerry-mandering and voter suppression tactics for GOP wins this time around...IF the people don't get out in the streets and put a stop to that nonsense.

It's not spin. The President's party ALWAYS loses the midterms. It's as predictable as anything.

You make it sound like it's either only Democrats, or mainly Democrats. Which is, of course, a partisan take. It's both parties, pretty much every time (with 1 exception in the past 4 decades).

The Revolution is very not wanted by the people.

Notice though how little they care.

Why they dont care is important.

Buckle Up!

In an important indicator down ticket, it should be noted that currently 14 of the top 16 most popular governors of states are Republican while the bottom five, least popular, include four Democrats--Kate Brown of Oregon being the least popular in the US--and one Republican.

This too indicates that the Democrats are in for a massive pounding in November. People just don't like them, and it isn't just Joke they're mad at.

More trolling bullshit. Now consider some facts versus your skid marked fiction as your un-American GOP/GQP as the enemy from within at doing the bidding of foreign enemies and tRump of the sewer of atrocities against the common decency of civilization:

These GOP Governors Are Trying to Distract Us From Their Deadly Failures by Killing More People

On Tuesday afternoon, Republican governors Greg Abbott of Texas and Tate Reeves of Mississippi, announced that they would be lifting all coronavirus restrictions in their respective states. That means no mask mandates and all businesses could operate at full capacity. “It is now time to open Texas 100 percent,” Abbott said.”People and businesses don’t need the state telling them how to operate.”

Public health officials felt differently. “Texas has been making some real progress, but it’s too soon for full reopening and to stop masking around others,” Dr. Mark McClellan said after the decision. McClellan is a public health expert and one of Abbott’s advisers, who wasn’t consulted before the governor’s announcement."
