Define a 'Liberal' or a 'Conservative'

It is my personal belief that he is gay, but conflicted. He has been taught that it is 'wrong' and his religious convictions, noble as they might be to him, are conflicting with his personal desires. Hence he is angry with other gay people who have had the courage to come out of the closet over the years and to stand proud about who they are. He wants to be able to do that, but cannot, because his religious convictions are too strong.

That is not a straw man my friend.... he is suggesting that redefining the term marriage somehow makes traditional marriages weaker. I am attempting to probe that statement to find out HOW it makes them weaker? Thus far he has given no evidence. Hence the questions posed to him.

A gay couple being allowed to marry would not affect the relationship you have with your wife would it?
 
HE is all of them and I suspect ALias, too! They have to change names, everyone eventually puts them on ignore! Then they have to, or talk only to yurt and loyaldancinginherend.

actually that was not an insult. It was an observation. I leave open the possibility that I could be wrong. But it is a tendency for those who protest the most are those that are angry with themselves for not being true to themselves.

I’m not going to spend $200 or $300 a month on health insurance because I’m healthy, I don’t need it.’ But something terrible happens, all the sudden he needs it. What’s going to happen if he goes into a coma? Who pays for that?”

“What he should do is whatever he wants to do,” Paul replied. “That’s what freedom is all about, taking your own risks. This whole idea that you have to prepare to take care of everybody…”

“Are you saying society should just let him die?” Blitzer asked.

The audience responded with shouts of “Yes!”

A hospital won't 'let him die'. They have to treat him. He can pay it off later (and there are a surprising number of ways to pay, at substantially low rates).

That's not my argument. I've stated that traditional marriage is the backbone of the family, which in turn is the backbone of society, so society has an obligation to protect it.
