Deep Green Freeze

here ya go

I asked you to articulate it (knew you couldn't, too stupid)
and Wrong again asshole, your link didn't state the single factor that caused Solyndra's failure.

You have been officially recognized as a useless lazy sophist troll.
Dismissed

so tell us how, if the current grid cannot even supply power when the temps drop

Ah, but the grid can supply power...Texas just isn't on it by their own choice.

are you going to recharge 100 million electric cars, trucks, and trains?

Very easily...by staying connected to the national grids, not seceding from them to have your own stupid grid that you never weatherize, update, or upgrade, even after years of warnings.

Your stupidity is the gift that keeps on giving.
What an idiot.
If there were 100 million electric cars on the Texas grid, the grid would be having no problems whatsoever.

You know nothing of physics do you? You are actually dumber than the OP.

I didn't know that there had never been power outages in the US before this.

Haw, haw..................................haw.
They don't sell generators in Texas? What do they do when the power goes out due to hurricanes?

Do we have to explain to the morons in this thread that solar typically pays dividends in the summer, when available daylight is considerably more than in winter?

Or that the gas fired plants froze solid?

hey dumbfuck there are 3 power grids in the US - Western, Eastern, and Texan

yeah that's correct, TX is run by pirates with ZERO financial incentive to prepare for emergencies, and who of obviously did not

...oh forgot, TX is only 10% renewable, and those facilities fared quite well

suck it annie
El Paso did. I wonder how they're doing?

El Paso also has access to the Montana Power Station, built on the east side of town after the hard freeze in 2011 that left the city without power and water. Buraczyk said officials made several critical decisions after that storm to prevent a similar situation from happening in the future, including having its equipment being able to withstand low temperatures as low as negative 10 degrees.

Just so everyone's clear...

Solyndra went bankrupt in 2011.

Three of the four links you gave me were outdated, from 2012 and 2013.

The fourth link you gave didn't even reference American green energy, it was a Word doc, UNSOURCED, from Austria that didn't contain any hyperlinks in order to verify the accuracy of what is in the document.

So what you didn't do was provide the list of solar and wind companies that went bankrupt since 2015.

Every seemingly credible reference and source you gave me were outdated and didn't support your contention here.
Does it mention that Solyndra was Bush's baby?

Or Jan Brewer turning Arizona into a Chinese solar factory?

Gas and power prices have spiked across the central U.S. while Texas regulators ordered rolling blackouts Monday as an Arctic blast has frozen wind turbines. Herein is the paradox of the left’s climate agenda: The less we use fossil fuels, the more we need them.

A mix of ice and snow swept across the country this weekend as temperatures plunged below zero in the upper Midwest and into the teens in Houston. Cold snaps happen—the U.S. also experienced a Polar Vortex in 2019—as do heat waves. Yet the power grid is becoming less reliable due to growing reliance on wind and solar, which can’t provide power 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Texas’s energy emergency could last all week as the weather is forecast to remain frigid. “My understanding is, the wind turbines are all frozen,” Public Utility Commission Chairman DeAnn Walker said Friday. “We are working already to try and ensure we have enough power but it’s taken a lot of coordination.”

Wind’s share has tripled to about 25% since 2010 and accounted for 42% of power last week before the freeze set in. About half of Texans rely on electric pumps for heating, which liberals want to mandate everywhere. But the pumps use a lot of power in frigid weather. So while wind turbines were freezing, demand for power was surging.

California progressives long ago banished coal. But a heat wave last summer strained the state’s power grid as wind flagged and solar ebbed in the evenings. After imposing rolling blackouts, grid regulators resorted to importing coal power from Utah and running diesel emergency generators.

Liberals claim that prices of renewables and fossil fuels are now comparable, which may be true due to subsidies, but they are no free lunch, as this week’s energy emergency shows.
The Biden Administration’s plan to banish fossil fuels is a greater existential threat to Americans than climate change.

What part about "Heat Pump warnings about not being suitable for extreme cold conditions" did you not pay attention to?

ERCOT has had several press conferences in the last 3 days saying that Wind Turbans has nothing to do with the problems in Texas.

ERCOT publicly said that the majority of the problem is from not having any bypass resolutions established and in place, and the many freeze-ups of Natural Gas transmission facilities that were never winterized.

THIS KIND OF MISINFORMATION MUST STOP!

PRICK PERRY AND Gregg A-BUTT are directly responsible for this lack of planning and neglect of their own GRID- AND SO NATURALLY WHAT DO THEY DO- START LYING ABOUT THE CAUSE OF FAILURE!

They need to be horsewhipped, tarred and feathered, and thrown in the piss pool for that! And you can do the same with both useless Texas Senators as well- WHILE YOU ARE AT IT!

lubricating oil vs gasoline---------apples and oranges

yes, the can be deiced. using petroleum products. it takes a lot of heat to make solar panels. Heat produced by burning hydrocarbons. batteries? check into where the lithium comes from. strip mining using child labor in Africa.

the green movement ignores reality.
What energy is used to run fracking rigs? And why don't they ever cap their wells when they flee the sites?

LMAO! Texas don't need no damned govt.!

Or do they? I wonder what the odds are that the Texas idiots in charge actually do this?

[h=1]Texas Gov. Greg Abbott tells lawmakers to mandate winterization of power generators[/h]

They spray a mixture of water and glycol...glycol is alcohol-based (hence the "col"), not petroleum based.

You know, a simple Google search would have revealed this information to you.

The EO is first produced by the oxidation of ethylene in the presence of oxygen or air and a silver oxide catalyst. A crude ethylene glycol mixture is then produced by the hydrolysis of EO with water under pressure. The water-glycol mixture is fed to evaporators where the water is recovered and recycled.

Ethylene comes from natural gas.
