Which is the underlying question of this thread. And, once again, the reason Harvard is facing backlash from this practice, not just in this case.
Times are changing. Is it better to accept a C student like George W Bush, or a kid that exhibits stellar work habits? Each year we get farther and farther away from weighing standardized testing more than work ethic.

In fact, many colleges are denying students with perfect SAT scores, if they don't get involved in the community.

They don't want mass shooters on campus.

Well you need to seek comfort somewhere I suppose, and yes Nancy, you did assert he was hurting the institution by attending. But hey, you are what you are.
