Data backs up Trump on crime increase, violence up under Biden-Harris administration

Interesting...
When I go to the NCVS, I find that crime is actually down compared to 2019 and less than what it was in 2018,
2018 violent crime - 23.2 per 1,000
2023 violent crime - 22.5 per 1,000

Similarly, the rate of violent victimization
reported to police was consistent from 2022 to
2023 (10.1 per 1,000 persons). The 2023 rate was
higher than the 2020 (6.6 per 1,000) and 2021
(7.5 per 1,000) rates but was comparable to 5
years ago in 2019 and consistent with the overall
downward trend since 1993 (33.8 per 1,000).

The 2018 crime rate can be found in the 2020 report

Violent crime is down from the peak in violent crime under Trump.
No, Pobrre.

Crime rates remained elevated last year under President Biden, according to Justice Department data released Thursday that challenges a prevailing media and White House narrative.

Which number shows worse violent crime?
2018 violent crime - 23.2 per 1,000
2023 violent crime - 22.5 per 1,000

From your own link. 2020 if you'll remember, is the year everyone was staying home because of a botched pandemic response.

Crime rates in 2023 were lower than crime rates in 2018. It seems you have decided you can just deny facts.

If we choose to keep America in its current configuration,
we're choosing to keep crime.
The party in power is irrelevant to the situation.

The two, America and crime, are inseparable
as is evident to anybody with a willingness to be honest about it.

All the more reason to have a UK style National Health Service
so we can at least try to save some of the victims.

It seems crime did go down from the higher crime rate under Trump.
And once again, Bullshit

Your “facts” are based upon the National Crime Victimization Survey, which of course the Examiner never cites. The survey measures a small sample of people who have been victims of a crime, and is not intended as an indicator on actual crime statistics, it is a survey

Also the source the Examiner does employ to serve as an authority on the survey is the Crime Prevention Research, a gun hugger group

The data comes from a massive annual government-run survey of crime victims. ....
The Bureau of Justice Statistics runs the National Crime Victimization Survey,
which annually reaches nearly a quarter-million people in 150,000 households. It is one of two primary national tallies of overall crime rates. The FBI’s national crime reporting database compiled crimes reported to local police departments

The "facts" are based on cherry picking 2020 from the survey as Trump's numbers while ignoring 2018 which had higher crime numbers than under Biden in 2023.
