Yup, this is where I stand. Hold a long trial. Drag it out as long as needed. Make everyone testify. I think that ending this quickly would be the option providing the least boon to Republicans. The longer this goes on, the more it hurts the Dims and the more it benefits the Repubs.

precisely, and I hope the Dems remember they asked for it.

the longer the trial the longer Pocahontas and Bernie are required by law to be in Washington 6 days a week.

And Senate rules will be whatever the Republican majority says they are.

We will hear from Hunter Biden and his quid pro quo Joe papa, and I'm sure Mitch has a few more tricks up his sleeve.

Probably not, no one, Pelosi nor Mitch, want a lengthy trial, it would quickly turn into a circus with negative consequences for both parties, there will be no Hannity production

Trump being acquitted was a done deal regardless of what evidence was presented, Mitch and Lindsey have pretty much confirmed that, there will be a trial in name only.

And it is doubtful any of this will have any bearing on 2020, in the era of Trump everything is forgotten quickly, a year ago Trump shut down the Gov't and few people remember, al Baghdadi was killed two months ago and it is already a faint memory, eleven months in politics is a long time

Trump doesn't need acquitting. He hasn't been confronted with any evidence he has done anything wrong. The bullshit Nadler and Schiff have produced is only the pabulum for willful idiots who can't think for themselves.

The idiots in the Party of the Jackass may not even succeed moving this stupidity to the Senate.

An honest testimony from the Repubs that Trump has ordered to be hidden would gut Trump. He is not ordering them to ignore subpoenas in an effort to start a new sport. He knows they could damage him. If they were exonerating him, he would have had them testify in prime time. Trump will stop them in this trial too. Trump fears the truth, but he should not. If he was proven guilty of everything, the rightys would vote for him again. We are way past justice and the law with Trump. He is a religious leader of a robotic cult.
 
Nice theory except there will be no 2020 election for Trump to win.

The democrats know they must take Trump out before the election for this very reason.

Trump will be taken out of the way using violent methods and this will cause a civil war.

Hostile takeover is imminent. We don't have years we have weeks or even days.

I think either strat has its strengths/weakness. The media is terrible and corrupt and either way will spin this against Trump. But this is a good chance for Trump to call his witnesses, and cross exam the Whistleblower and Adam Shifft. I say use it.
