Why do I have the feeling if a Republican were President this story would be getting a WHOLE lot more coverage nationally and discussion on this board?

I've seen one post on this issue and it came from Christie and it was about candidate Trump supposedly having a conflict of interest over it. So absolutely nothing being discussed about the actual issue.

Obama's legacy for idiocy has been confirmed withe the decision not to complete a pipeline that is 95% finished......can we hail Democrats support for American business!.....

we will begin discussing it next year i guess. I tried posting a thread on it that no one replied to lol.

I honestly dont know which side to take. ON the one hand water on the other the pipe s 95% complete and theyve been negotiating for years and it doesnt even hit their land :/

Both Alex Jones and TYT are supportive of the water protectors too.

Hey Idiot; The Army Corp of Engineers is entirely non partisan.

just like the DoJ and the State Department?.....

don't even try to pretend that after three years of issuing the permit to spend millions of dollars on construction, this reversal is anything except politics......

I suppose you think ALL taxpayers should share the cost of reimbursing the pipeline company for the money that has been spent so far.....I say the costs should be born ONLY by the liberals who think this is a good idea......

Interesting - I always thought that only Bushies & conservatives should have had to pay for the Iraq War.

I was surprised that they didn't compromise and reroute the pipeline early on so that it wouldn't get to such a violent point. At least now both sides sort of win since the pipeline will be finished and the tribe will have their land respected.

They are still going to build the 95% complete pipeline. It's just going to go further away from sensitive Indian landa.

they were negotiating for a couple of years i think.

If you look at that pipeline it is not on their land. Surely the Missouri river is pretty damn polluted already, if you listened to the tree huggers you'd think it was a pristine water source!

The pipeline was originally scheduled to go to the North of Bismark and miss that city by an even greater distance, but the US Army Corp of engineers rejected it because of the danger to Bismark resident's drinking water.

So naturally they moved it to where there are less people. The Sioux had two years to register their protests but were too apathetic to go to the meetings.

The pipeline was going to be moved CLOSER to the Sioux than it was to the people of Bismark.

While the Sioux living on the reservation may be a smaller group numerically, the pipeline was going to be much closer to them than it was to the people of Bismark.
