President Obama will meet with congressional leaders Wednesday morning in a preview of his much-anticipated speech aimed at taking the reins of the fierce debate on the nation’s debt. The president’s plan, which will be delivered in a speech from Washington in the afternoon, will call to reduce Medicare and Medicaid spending, lower defense costs and raise taxes on the wealthy.
