CRT - what is it you object to.

Hello cawacko,

Wow, that’s a very interesting position. We should teach CRT in our classroom (which would include discussing the racist history behind single family zoning) but we shouldn’t do anything about it in the real world.

That’s something…

I do not agree that single family zoning causes racism. Disallowing multifamily dwellings in some neighborhoods does not exacerbate racism.

What contributes to racism is ignorance. Education is the answer.

Pointing out what Jesus said about people like yourself, non believers, and liars!

You're lying again, Matt. You made a declaration and judged me: "B]this is what you will hear on Judgement day[/B]!"

You constantly side against Jesus with your posts. You judge others, you spread hate, you hate those who disagree with you, etc.

An example is your focus on "nasty posts"; I'm the only one you go after. Quote me posts of you objecting to the lies and racism of your friends on JPP and I'll believe you truly are a Christian.

I'd like to see a "racial history" lesson plan that is
"Acceptable" and not already a part of any school curriculum...the one that will bring about world peace... Who here lives in a neighborhood that is not diverse? Anyone?

Are you playing 3D chess and proving your point that education is the answer by showing your ignorance to what is racism?

Those are the words of Jesus, who most certainly will judge you at the appropriate time! The lies you are telling calling me Matt, are insignificant to the other things you will be judged on!
I judge people on Character not color!

Man you can project everything you said about me is true about you!
I will now make it my mission to follow your posts and point them out!

Hello cawacko,

You better be careful. You're opening a can of worms here, with this zoning argument. I don't think it's really gonna get a lot of support. Wait till you read my response to this. You'll find it not going where you hoped, I'm sure...

Are you playing 3D chess and proving your point that education is the answer by showing your ignorance to what is racism?

Why is it racist to have different zoning in different areas? That simply sets out some areas as singly-family and others as multi-family. Generally, the single-family areas are going to be higher priced than the multi-family areas. All that does is divide the wealthy from the middle. It has nothing to do with race.

It's not the fact that races are divided by wealth, it's addressing the uneven wealth distribution. People of any race who bought in single-family residential paid a lot of money to do that. They have a right for that zoning to continue as is so that they can see the investment growth they paid for. Changing that zoning isn't gonna fix black poverty. Government assistance programs to give the needy a helping hand into prosperity. That's what reduces black poverty.

I'll tell ya what else we ought to do. The government should build simple minimal single-family residences and run assistance programs to get deserving people living in those new homes that they will eventually own and be able to pass on into the family. That's the secret to wealth. Home ownership. And it's a great idea, because builders do not build low price affordable homes. There is more money in building upscale, so that's about all that gets built. If it's multi-family, guess who owns that? That's apartments. Big corporations own apartments. Nobody is going to be able to build wealth paying rent to big corporations.

The discussion isn't whether the zoning issue will get a lot of support. The discussion is about CRT. You and others are arguing we should be woke and what's wrong with teaching CRT. Like I said, I'm not sure if you are arguing this position as a way of showing a lack of understanding and thus why we need to teach CRT?

Go back and research the history of redlining and how discriminatory measures were used to keep minorities (largely black people) out of certain/many neighborhoods. (Single family) zoning restrictions played a big role in that. Single family zoning has a racist and exclusionary history. It's a very easy google search to find plenty of literature on the topic.

Congrats on the retirement...;)

There is only one reason zoning entered into this discussion. You brought it up. I am convinced it is to our advantage for schools to teach our racial history. We need our people to feel comfortable and appreciative of all races.

If you want to establish that single family zoning is how blacks were kept out of neighborhoods that is up to you to do that. I would suggest it is a separate discussion which warrants it's own thread.

My interest in this thread is because racist conservatives who do not even know, and refuse to admit, they are racist are objecting to schools teaching our racial history. Maintaining ignorance of racial history is a good way to guarantee racism continues. Our challenge is not whether or not to teach our young what led us up to this point. It is how to do it. As usual, conservatives are on the wrong side of the issue.

Bite the bullet is the only way to move past it. The more you hide from the reality the more it festers.

CRT and claims we are a white supremacist nation aren't based on reality. It is fabricated bullshit from Fascistic morons who think they can dupe all Americans like they can the low IQ left.

Making excuses for what happens in the black communities of Democratically controlled urban shit holes will not make their lives any less miserable. Until the black communities throw off the yoke of Democrat dependency, they will continue to fail.

You’re sitting here denying the racist history of one of the major wealth builders in our country, and one of the reasons behind the call for reparations, yet are claiming others are on the wrong side of history?

Can’t make this up…

Ummmm.....cotton was king and slaves certainly were part of it but notice that cotton didn't go away after 1865. America's wealth building continued.

Note that slavery contributed to up to 20% of wealth in that era, primarily in the South...which Lincoln and Sherman destroyed and burned to the ground. ;)

the increase in output per enslaved worker was responsible for roughly a fifth of the growth in commodity output per capita for the United States as a whole between 1839 and 1859—between 18.7 percent and 24.3 percent. At the latter end of this time period, in 1859, enslaved Americans accounted for only 12 percent of the U.S. population.
