Crowds flock to reopened Jacksonville beaches as Florida hits record coronavirus case

The beaches should have never been closed to begin with. With 20-40 mph winds every day, I'd have a better chance at winning the lottery than I would catching Covid at a beach. Been on the beach many times in my life, never once had any strangers "close" to me. Only an idiot buys into this garbage.

Those who live in Iglooland and concrete jungle shitholes need to stick to expertise in those venues. Anyone who's ever been on a beach knows I speak the truth.

I don't think you see the larger picture! Why? Because you are a Trumptard!

oh please . Buddhism is much more the meditation..
face it . you change my words to fit your narrative - does it bother me? no more then the 100's of dweebs who have landed on JPP and think they can do the same without being called on it. It's amusing to watch you back peddle -nothing more

The fact you talk about it but don't express it much through your posting style tells me you're more into the idea of Buddhism than in living it. Your choice...just like those people going to the beach or having parties are making a free choice.

Sweetie, you were the one bitching, not me. I advised everyone to go out as they like. I support the Governors making the decision. It appears the main point you are bitching about is my comment that if they get sick, it's not my problem. That's the purpose of guinea pigs.

Try not to get too depressed during this trying time in the world. Go out and enjoy the day. Peace.

where's Waldo??
Sunlight and high temperatures help stop the spread of coronavirus on hard surfaces, according to preliminary results of a study for the US Government.

Covid-19 also struggles to survive on surfaces in high humidity, the results suggest, adding to hope that a summer heatwave could help ease the health crisis.

It's a matter of personal choice. People who make good choices should reap the benefits just as those who make bad choices should pay the consequences. It's a matter of evolution.

As the Zen master said, "when hungry, eat. when tired, sleep." It's up to each of us to decide. That's also part of the Libertarian platform:

https://www.lp.org/platform/
1.0 PERSONAL LIBERTY
Individuals are inherently free to make choices for themselves and must accept responsibility for the consequences of the choices they make. Our support of an individual’s right to make choices in life does not mean that we necessarily approve or disapprove of those choices. No individual, group, or government may rightly initiate force against any other individual, group, or government. Libertarians reject the notion that groups have inherent rights. We support the rights of the smallest minority, the individual.

1.1 Self-Ownership

Individuals own their bodies and have rights over them that other individuals, groups, and governments may not violate. Individuals have the freedom and responsibility to decide what they knowingly and voluntarily consume, and what risks they accept to their own health, finances, safety, or life.

Prior lock down.

Thank You Miss Captain Obvious. That is why I dated the photo!

I was responding to someone who said that the beaches should have never been closed, and that someone's chances of winning the lottery was more likely to happen than catching something from another human.

Here again, you Trumptards are not seeing the larger picture. You can't even see the obvious before you go off half/baked and say something totally tard!

The 1918-19 Spanish flu pandemic only shares one thing in common with the current one -- the pandemic part. Completely different organisms. That being said, we can learn from 1918 Denver's experience. They shut down most everything in an effort to save lives. But under pressure from businesses, they reopened too soon. This is the result:

Those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it.

Sexy graph! Yes, this is why those states who choose to open early are great laboratories. Everyone will know in month. Maybe even two weeks if there is plenty of testing.

Even without testing we'll start seeing a spike in the death rate.

Playing with people's lives. Unbelievable.

and you think the beaches are just going to go back to packed crowds do you?

I think the second the okay is given for open beaches...they will be MORE crowded than any of the pictures I offered.

Yeah...I think they are going to be hugely crowded with many thinking, "I'm gonna go. It shouldn't be crowded, because not many will actually go."

Do you go to the beach to shake hands with strangers?

Good grief.
I don't go to the beach. We have lakes in the mountains. trumpkins always feel the need to exhibit stupidity. They'll do it to prove a point. Let's watch the numbers in the coming weeks.

Because the airborne particles are the main source of contagion.

I have practiced hand washing and cleanliness for years and probably why I never get the flu or colds. Never had a flu shot in my life.

But this virus is airborne and extremely contagious. By walking into a grocery store, you are gambling with catching it.
Grossly incorrect

just like people do every year with the flu and tens of thousands of people die from it every year.

If you don't quarantine every flu season you are a hypocrite.
just like every year with the flu so science is suspended for the flu so you don't have to be quarantined during flu season.

Smart for the first time in years. Because every flu season people get infected with that and die. do you quarantine every flu season if you don't you are a hypocrite and you are not smart.

First, ignorant moron, there is a vaccine for flu.

Second, we know a lot about seasonal flu. How easily or difficult it is to transmit, the beginning and end of the season, etc. None of which applies to this other than it is about twice as contagious as the flu.

Third, dumbfuck, people are so used to seasonal flu that they go to restaurants, school, work, concerts, church, sporting events, and other places in close proximity to others. That’s why the numbers are as high as they are. We now have 40,000 deaths in less than 2 months WITH quarantines and isolation.

I don’t quarantine during flu season, idiot. I vaccinate. If I do get sick. I stay away from others.
