President Biden faced intense backlash from critics on Thanksgiving after speaking out against the purchase of semi-automatic weapons.

During a press event in Nantucket, Massachusetts, Biden reiterated his previous support for new gun restrictions while speaking about the recent mass shooting in Colorado.

"The idea we still allow semi-automatic weapons to be purchased is sick," Biden said. "Just sick. It has no socially redeeming value. Zero. None. Not a single solitary rationale for it except profit for the gun manufacturers."

A reporter then asked Biden if he would be able to make any movement on new gun laws while Republicans control the House in the next Congress, to which the president said he would make that assessment as he counts votes.....

In 2008, in District of Columbia v. Heller, the court said there is an individual constitutional right to have a handgun in one's home for self-protection. Two years later, in a second case, the court made clear that its decision applied to the states as well as the federal government.

That settles it.

The Founding Fathers, in their infinite wisdom, set the standard for bearing arms and now, in Biden's out of control crime world, that right is saving lives daily, hourly.

For those who wish to live with no protection for themselves or their families, you have the right to not own a firearm and put a "gun-free zone" in your front yard and advise the murdering thugs that you will not defend your life or the lives of your family.

You do not have the right to prevent the rest of the sane world from having the right of self-defense for themselves and their families.
 
There is no Constitutional right to consume alcohol.

Even though I recognize Breakdown Lane as a hopeless buffoon, he/she/it does indirectly make a point.

My fellow left-leaning Democrats refuse to accept the reality of what America is--a perpetual shooting gallery.

Capping one another's asses is part of the American DNA, and as long as our present republic exists, it will remain that way.

The constitution says we can arm ourselves, and while that doesn't bother me as much as it seems to bother more "woke"' progressives,
I at least understand that with the nation as polarized as it has become, the constitution cannot be amended.
Amending the constitution requires more consensus than this republic will ever have again. It's an easy scenario to understand.

We're going to shoot each other. It's what Americans do, have always done, and will always do.
We are a people literally created over a quarter-millennium by a poorly written constitution,
and now there isn't a fucking thing we can do about it.

Just learn when to duck, because you live in a land where bullets will always fly.

If you don't want to partition, and convert America into smaller, new nations comprised of more compatible people within themselves,
quit complaining about the gun violence. Even if you hate it, you're a major cause of it--as long as you wish to preserve this utterly failed republic.
