CRIMINAL: BP's Cover-Up of Blow-Out in Caspian Sea

LOL No. The tutu thing. That's what certain people (and i use the term loosely) used to say he wore when they were mocking his manhood.

Wouldn't a man who wore a tutu be very secure in his masculinity?

What about this guy?

I'm wondering why. We know what's in it for Top, Top has always been very open about it. I wonder what's in it for Tom?

My biggest problem, at least for many on here, is that I have a scientific background and have a working knowledge of risk analysis. Science is not determined by emotion which is why the more emotional and hysterical steer well clear of it. It also doesn't help that the vast majority of journalists are scientifically illiterate and are only interested in pandering to alarmism.

Why would any of this make you so hostile to alternative energy sources? I think there's more to it.

So why is that exactly? Every time a site is chosen the greenwash brigade fight tooth and nail to stop it happening and terrified politicians pander to their ignorance!

No one right or left want the stuff in their back yard and yet some of the same ones saying it is safe do not want it in their backyard.

You always like a good conspiracy theory, I hate to disappoint you but I am all in favour of alternative energy if it makes sense. Wind power just doesn't cut the mustard I'm afraid, see post #47 to see why. There is nothing wrong with trying to get solar power to work in the desert regions of the USA, also tidal and geothermal show some promise but they are still at their early stage of development. I have stated many times that thorium reactors are the answer, just imagine how quickly they could have been developed if all that money hadn't been wasted on wind turbines that seem to benefit China mostly!

How the fuck can burying something inside a mountain be in anyone's backyard? I have given up trying to explain vitrification to the ignorant hordes, they prefer to believe the fuckwits that write loony greenwash blogs!!

Vitrification is a proven technique in the disposal and long-term storage of nuclear waste or other hazardous wastes.[SUP][4][/SUP] Waste is mixed with glass-forming chemicals in a melter to form molten glass that then solidifies in canisters, immobilizing the waste. The final waste form resembles obsidian and is a non-leaching, durable material that effectively traps the waste inside. The waste can be stored for relatively long periods in this form without concern for air or groundwater contamination. Bulk vitrification uses electrodes to melt soil and wastes where they lay buried. The hardened waste may then be disinterred with less danger of widespread contamination. According to the Pacific Northwest National Labs, "Vitrification locks dangerous materials into a stable glass form that will last for thousands of years."[SUP][5][/SUP]

As you've been told numerous times, no one ever said wind power in itself is the solution. You sound to me like someone very impressed with their knowledge, and limited though it may be, can't stop repeating it.

So what exactly are your scientific credentials? Wind power is a total blind alley and monumental waste of time, anybody with an ounce of knowledge knows that for a fact. You seem to be one of those that distrusts anyone with scientific knowledge as some kind of dangerous subversive who must be silenced lest the plebs get to hear the truth! See I can indulge in rhetoric as well.

Tom you're such a blowhard. The truest definition of a bore. I don't actually believe you have any scientific knowledge, I think you're a schill, and your nonsense about global climate change convinced me of that a long time ago. So stick it.

And actually this is a totally false statement. You keep pretending that anyone claims that wind power alone can replace fossil fuels - no one ever made such a claim or ever would. I suppose setting up this straw man feeds your need to feel smarter than everyone else.

But many environmental scientists believe that wind power has a role to play, so again Tom, stick it.

Suit yourself, I really couldn't care less whether you believe me or not.

It is destined to go the way of DC power transmission, Edison has taught a whole generation of charlatans the power of marketing!

I am sure you know better than everyone else with "scientific credentials" writing on this Tom. It's such a shame that the world's smartest man is stuck posting here...but a real gift for the dozen or so of us reading your posts. Thanks!
