If this deal with Israel and Hamas goes through, The Trump administration will have accomplished an historic agreement akin to what Jimmy Carter accomplished in the Middle East with the Abraham accords.

I'd have to see the deal. Is it a peace treaty? Are the Palestinians agreeing that Israel is a sovereign nation with a right exist? If so, good. If not, we're right back the square one.

A ceasefire is simply time for both parties to collect their dead, recruit, train and arm more recruits then go back to doing the same thing they've done for the past 55 years: Palestinians murdering Israelis while screaming "From the River to the Sea!" and the Israelis retaliating.

Give it a year or two. The good news is that, the next time, Israel will bulldoze Gaza and turn it into a prosperous Mediterranean Resort.

The OP has supported the so called Palestinians controlled by Hamas for years on this forum and now that Israel controls more than 80% of Gaza, he wants us to believe that he is now contrite.

Horse mierda.

This probably wasn’t easy to write. We’ve become so tribal that even giving credit for what we think is a good deal feels like acknowledging the other side’s humanity, something people spend so much time trying to deny.

What do you see as the good deal here? Just because a ceasefire is enacted doesn't mean peace will reign over the region. Anyone older than 50 has seen this several times before.

IMO, total war is the answer. Wipe out the enemy unless they offer unconditional surrender. Period. It worked in the Civil War, WWI and WWII. Why not now?

When the Trump administration accomplished something good (prison sentencing reform from the first administration) and this (if it happens) I like to acknowledge it. Its actually easy for me to get so say something positive about this administration once in a while.

Neither of your assertions are true.

Agreed. Trump only wants a check in the box for the Nobel Peace Prize (name TBA tomorrow for 2025) and to slather his name in praise. He doesn't give a shit about dead kids as proved by his actions this past year in both Gaza and Ukraine not to mention domestically.
I seriously doubt he will get it, hard to get the Nobel when you are blowing Colombians out of the water. Also, they really frown on people campaignin for it.

Ok, so s that why Trump wants one so badly?
I am not trumps spokesman but if as you say Trump deserves credit for this then that alone means he should get one if your mocha messiah got one for doing nothing. Unless you want to admit the peace prize is nothing more than a bauble
