Nick Sandmann sued 8 news sources for reporting on what others thought was his threatening behavior. 3 settled with him for a token sum of $1 each. His case against the other 5 were thrown out of court with prejudice, he will never get to refile again. The 3 that settled saved money, because fighting it in court cost the 5 who won tens of thousands.

The entire case rested on whether Phillips (the Native American) was allowed to feel threatened by Sandmann or not. Not whether Sandmann meant to be threatening, but only whether Phillips was allowed to feel threatened.

Because Sandmann's lawyers were willing to take the case pro bono, he will receive the full $3... It is such a small settlement, he will not even have to pay taxes on it. I think that will probably pay for all the education he is capable of.

Oh, his latest with the judge ruling in favor of the media outlets wasn't thrown out with prejudice and Sandmann's lawyers have already started filing an appeal.

The case hinges not on what Walt claims either by how Philip's actions were interpreted and presented by those MSM outlets. The judge said they were just presenting what Philips said and thought, and that's likely not to hold up on appeal.

It was clearly thrown out with prejudice. They can appeal, but they cannot bring the case again.

Or more accurately, they can try to appeal. There does not seem to be any reversible error. They just do not like the verdict. That is not really appealable.
