Reports of a highly contagious new variant in the United States, published on Friday by multiple news outlets, are based on speculative statements made by Dr. Deborah Birx and are inaccurate, according to several government officials.
The erroneous report originated at a recent meeting where Dr. Birx, a member of the White House coronavirus task force, presented graphs of the escalating cases in the country.
She suggested to other members of the task force that a new, more transmissible variant originating in the U.S. might explain the surge, as another variant did in Britain.

“This fall/winter surge has been at nearly twice the rate of rise of cases as the spring and summer surges. This acceleration suggests there may be a USA variant that has evolved here, in addition to the UK variant that is already spreading in our communities and may be 50% more transmissible,” the report read. “Aggressive mitigation must be used to match a more aggressive virus.”
Dismayed, officials at the C.D.C. tried to have the speculative statements removed, but were unsuccessful.

Smug self-proclaimed entrenched "experts" who had lurked in the bowels of the federal workforce for years suddenly emerged as the High Priests and Priestesses of the Cult of COVID.
These slimy slugs of the scientific community (who were mostly administrative drones) blew up over 300 million lives with no provable scientific or medical justification.
Once they grasped the significance of the opportunity that the Chinese Communists in Wuhan had given them, DEMOCRATS in the media and in government passionately parroted the panic-promoting Gospel of the Novel Coronavirus around the clock.
Ignoring the highly-questionable nature of the basis of their faith, these COVID converts morphed into fanatical fundamentalists who demanded that they be obeyed - despite the inconsistencies in their tales of terror.
They told their captive congregation not to wear masks, then they told them to wear them, despite having no evidence that masks are effective in curbing the spread of the dread Coronavirus, the shibboleth they use to cow the masses.
People who are ideologically disposed to agree with anyone who appears to contradict President Trump still insist that "science" proves these inconsistent and contradictory are correct and it is is blasphemy to deny the "science" (that doesn't exist).

The "experts" never actually explain why an outbreak is severe in one place and time, while being mild in others.

So, the honest answer here would be that the "experts" don't actually seem to know. But that's not possible, the cultists cry!

Your boy Trump's little shindig in the Capitol is going to be a super-spreader event like nobody's business. Masks prevent the respiration of viral fluids. It's a scientific fact that has been used for ages. If you ever had to go to the doctor with the flu, or any other spreadable illness through respiration, it's been where a mask or social distance in the provided sick room as long as I've been around and longer. It was just a rule of thumb and my simple opinion. Around two weeks, but some people are asymptomatic and contagious at that time. Only non-Covid cultists ignore the stress in capacity to our healthcare system due to the pandemic. Why are some locations renting refrigeration trucks to keep corpses when morgues are over capacity if the pandemic is only a right wing Hoax?
